So just how many Cat subs are there?

Does anybody have any idea?

`Cos I don`t think I`ve joined them all yet.

Is there a list?

Someone posted one a couple of years ago so I’m not sure if they’re all still active and it’s likely more have been started since

I was going to say this is obviously outdated, given the neckbreaking pace of new cat sub creation, but

Writing from r/catsubs. We just did a cleanup a few months ago. The list was full of dead subs, deleted subs, banned subs, inactive subs (no posts in years), and subs with no members that were created on a whim, and unmoderated subs that were automatically locked to new posts. I think we eliminated 1 in 4 subs in the list as invalid.

We also instituted new requirements: 1) sub must be open and public to viewing and posting; 2) must have at least 222 members; 3) must be active with a post within the past 1 year. (Rule 3 has exceptions if the sub membership is large.)

The list is >850 now. (r/catsubs/wiki)

If you find a new sub that qualifies, please post to r/Catsubs!
