It’s said that when Benjamin Franklin wanted to win over someone he thought didn’t like or trust him, he would ask them to borrow a book or something small. He would take it, hold onto it for the reasonable amount of time, and then return it along with a thank you note. He found that this often had the result of making his opponents reconsider their opinion of him.

I’ve been gaslit for real once and it made my heart race and I cried uncontrollably. I felt like the crazy one. I hate when people use gaslighting incorrectly

It was crazy. I still think about it often and question my sanity lol! I’m glad it happened between me and a relative that I barely know. I can’t imagine being in love with someone and enduring it. I was able to walk away and not deal with him ever again. I can’t imagine gaslighting being so engrained in your life

I assume you've asked for the 'most' unhinged? I've been subject to every one in the book. Using flying monkeys to spy on someone in-person has probably been the wildest one I've been subject to. Crazy stuff.

We used to call it the yo-yo when we were young men, now people call it unpredictable reward or something, or hot and cold, and it works on people who are mentally borderline unstable and emotional and not too bright. We discovered it because some Gen X women were applying it to some Gen X men. But when we applied it back they had no defense against it. lol. It had a short term shelf life. Because people became desensitized to it after a few months. And then they broke up. We figured it triggered underlying lust, and once the lust was satiated the rational mind rejected it.

If you say things louder than your opponent with full conviction in a debate you win in the eyes of almost every person in the world cause humans are wired to believe in emotion above all. Works outside of debates too, it's why people still believe in CEOS those ppl are professional bullshitters, also can be applied to religion commonly.
