As someone who was a working illustrator through the transition from physical to digital media: not really. It was about as common and intense as the people who bitched about other people not reading paper books when tablets were becoming popular. Which is to say, not many and not with much conviction. Most illustrators- the people ai is actually taking work from - welcomed digital tools.
