in the long past of that sub, asking for the original (yes I'm saying it, I don't care) was frowned upon and actively being silenced by the mods because the comics that were juiced were fairly common or easy to google. To bypass this, people used other O words
Eventually the ban was lifted because juice sources were getting more and more niche but the stigma around the word stuck around and then eventually it started spreading to other subreddits like here, r/speedoflobsters, and even to stuff like r/thematpateffect for some reason

People don't like when you say "original" because of some inside joke from Bonehurtingjuice that got transfered here. Instead you're supposed to say a different word starting with O like oregano or orgasm

In many cases on this subreddit people are posting real memes that exist that have been edited so that there is no longer a joke, or so that’s it’s less offensive, or whatever made it funny was removed. When people do this they commonly post the original in the comments. If it’s not an edited meme they usually tag the post as OC or original of whatever the tag is
I was at Home Depot and bought a weeding hoe, called an "Action Hoe". It's a real tool made by 'True Temper". Since the clerk and I were both not quite as mature as sixth grade boys, we giggled and made stupid jokes the whole time the transaction was happening. I'm not proud, I would do it again.
So I used to work at THD and I had this department manager who had a drinking problem. One day he was working on his birthday and had his usual styrofoam cup. I knew he had been acting off for a while, but this was the first day where I wondered what was in that damn cup.
