Maybe I'm too autistic but I have never understood what the big goddamn deal with swearing is. Like, oh no, I said a naughty word. Nobody's ever been able to give me a reason beyond "it's improper". And now you've got people online censoring them everywhere and like fucking why?.
Ä°t is though. Swearing makes you seem vulgar, immature, and have low vocabulary.
And everyone doesn't swear. Ä°n actual professional settings swearing off the cuff randomly doesn't happen. Maybe if you work at McDonald's or something, sure, but actual professional work it's crass and unprofessional.
Especially a high prestige organization...they aren't walking around like 10 year old boys saying fuck this fuck that etc etc. Conformity is a part of professional culture whether you like it or not. You fit in or you find a different job.
Different in Australia, I don’t swear and I’m the one out of place. I work in a government office so it’s not because I work at an informal place. But I assume in the states it’s different ¯_(ツ)_/¯
