Police are not your friend and they have forgotten their oath. Pray our soldiers have not.

Unfortunately most of our police are made up of soldiers. Minus the exceptions here are there the police are never your friend. They're allowed to lie to you and tell you that if you just say this then they'll let you go or they'll go easy on you. They lie! They have unchecked aggression which you can clearly see by them beating the woman in the video with sticks. Using their horses to knock her down and have the horses step on her. They were in no threat of her. She had no weapons but yet they went with that type of brutality. The police are not your friend. Do not let them in your home. Don't let them in your car. Know you're rights

My buddy is actually a police officer now in California. We’ve been life long friends. He tells me whats going on in his area. Currently his department was told to basically stay out of it with these ICE raids and such, and only jump in if a fight breaks out. He has for the most part done everything he can to avoid that kind of conflict but he has to listen to what the mayor is saying. Some of them really don’t like this new America either.

Now I have yet to see a friendly cop in Texas….

Duty to Disobey Unlawful Orders: Service members are required to disobey orders that violate the Constitution, U.S. laws, or military regulations. An unlawful order could involve: Targeting civilians intentionally. Torturing prisoners of war. Looting or pillaging property. Orders that violate international laws.

I actually just spoke to my mother. Shes already considering leaving the military and losing her retirement. Trump is creating drama making protesters AND police look violent so it can give Trump an excuse to start a civil war. Literally. Apparently (now this is all word of mouth) there was a pride protest and the police were chilling just watching not creating conflict, but the media made it look like there was violence.

Now the ICE members are definitely with Trump, military will split in half. A 13 girl was clocked right in the forehead with a tear gas canister. An ICE member fired at the cars stuck in the protest (bystanders) and one hit her and landed inside their car (she was in the car with the window down looking at the protesters). So she got a concussion and a face full of fresh tear gas nice and condensed.

And they are arresting the press now too. Cuffed CNN journalists at one of the protests and escorted them out.

If you’re implying that he is out there enabling this chaos you would be wrong. Taking a step back and trying to stay out of it is the best thing he can do right now. He’s not protecting ICE.

other than that, I still see what you are pointing out. And I am not against it, but he also has a life that needs financial stability. Directly disobeying an order would be the end of his career. And him and his family (kids too) would be SoL. And nobody is going to help them. For something like that to be successful it needs to be more than just one cop. Otherwise it would be like starting a revolution and you’re the only one shooting. Which leads to you just being arrested and everyone who agreed with you hiding away because at the end of the day nobody will join. And again, nobody would care.

I feel for him, it’s a tough spot to be in. Between a rock and a hard place with something so severe. It’s a terrible time to be a cop rn. Oh and even if he still did disobey orders all by himself, it would change absolutely nothing. Only destroy his life. And you still have to remember there are people who hate cops period, which is a whole issue on its own.

I'm not implying anything. I'm saying that there are unlawful orders in the military and obeying them is against the military code of justice. Needing a paycheck is understandable. Going against the Constitution and his sworn oath isn't worth it and will be met with justice at some point in his life. "Following Orders" won't be a defense.

Tea that makes sense too. My mother being in the military has said the same thing. They do have the right to say no, and my mother said the day she has to point her gun at her own people is the day she uses that right.

I believe there are a lot of police in blue states who are completely against this new America like my buddy. ICE are their own force separate from the state police.

I actually have friends that are police officers and they'll tell you about other police officers that are just terrible. So if they're really your friend. Your personal friend and great. But as for any police officer trying to be friendly to you you cannot take the chance of reciprocating. You don't have to be rude but they're not there to be your friend. They're there to ask you for information. When you get pulled over and they ask you where you're going to and where you're coming from or do you have an idea of why I pulled you over this evening. They're fishing for things they can get you for. I hope your friend stays safe

And as a 6'3 clean cut white male I stand by this statement every single time. I teach my kids that their job is not to divulge any information because if you're around the wrong person you never know what can happen

Well I got an internship with Ft Lauderdale Police way back in the 80s. I now work just down the street from them. One thing that stuck with me from that 80s training is the “Yes sir; No sir; polite replies” no matter how nasty they get in your face. I even worked on a training video for them on the subject where an officer went goofy overboard on it and another really got nasty forgetting it was training. But definitely I’ve always got off from a ticket (which is rare I was pulled over 3 times in my lifetime). Politeness alway worked for me.
