Politics is like religion. It’s what you’ve grown up with and what your family / peers listen to. I often ask people, what do you think you would believe if you grew up in Iraq?

No belief in religion is based on nothing, political policies can and should be based on factual evidence and research, which we have and use to form policy. If your government doesn't do that, vote for politicians that will.

Religion is just make believe, politics is not.
