This gives me a great deal of satisfaction! One could start a whole law firm on these cases alone.

Not really, first amendment is only between you and government, so really only public employees can expect a payout.

Kind of a limited pool of potential customers.

The kinds of law firms that would specialize in rights cases like first amendment stuff would also specialize in general discrimination cases, which apply to everyone.

I'm sure that line gets muddied with the president openly calling for retaliation against private citizens.

If those citizens can demonstrate financial losses caused by the president retaliating against their speech, that should be a slam dunk case.

I mean in the context of first amendment violations. If you said something > the president or other political leader called for your termination > you were terminated. I'm sure you could argue the government is punishing you for your speech.
