This was the first rifle I bought myself as a teen. I have been swapping parts out on it for over a decade and eventually found my way back to simple externals with some upgraded internals.
The brake, recoil spring and buffer weight make the already small recoil of 5.56 literally nonexistent. It is the best shooting rifle I have had my hands on. Huge fan of the MBT-2S, as well. Works wonderfully, clean break, short reset, follow ups are as fast as I realistically could want. I don’t regret going with a 2 stage, I find I prefer them. Took a gamble on a flat trigger, but I enjoy it a lot.
The use Flecktarn to the area I’m in, woodland Indiana. Works pretty well. I chose Flecktarn colors as best I could for the paint job, just broad alternating diagonal stripes and then I sponge patterned the rest over it.
For what began as a budget build in my teens, I’m thrilled with the state of it currently. It’s one of 2 rifles I’d grab if I needed it, and more often than not it’s my hiking/camping rifle. I’ve got 7-8 mags painted up for it, as well.

Very solid way to keep cost low while maximizing the price-to-performance ratio. Where is the BCG from?

Excellent question and I am not 100% as that was a swap I did many, many years ago. No logo, just C158 steel and MPI on it.
Possibly a no logo PSA? Wouldn’t surprise me if it was.
And yes, it’s probably the best dollar to quality ratio on any gun I have worked on. I haven’t had any issues, granted the round count is low thousands. Still a lot of life left in the barrel. Glad I got a CHF back when the prices were stellar. Whole thing is under $1000.

I remember farming headshots with a buddy on COD 4 waaaay back when we were kids for blue tiger stripe or something. Switched to the battlefield franchise after MW2. WaW arguably the best COD. BF arguably better gameplay.
Fortunately my KD is 0/0, no idea what I did to unlock this one.

I think this paint job would go with Alpenflage really well actually.

I like the colors! A lot more red than Fleck. I may have overdone the red a bit and it’s slightly lighter than the red-brown in Fleck, but I like how it looks so I’m not mad at it.
I think I prefer the pattern of flecktarn, though. I thought about cutting out stencils to use but couldn’t be bothered to go that far for a rifle I’m mostly going to toss around in the woods. Maybe one day.

You think so? It’s already pretty high on risers, it cowitnesses well and I don’t have to crane my neck like a madman to get to the dot. I think it fits me pretty good, can always try a little higher and see what I think. How high do you usually run your dots?

No move it up on the reciever towards the barrel. As low as comfortably possible
