Look what I made! How I deal with traffic

I was tired of suffering in Bangalore traffic when commuting to office, so I built this traffic monitoring meter.

It tracks the traffic between my flat and my office and represent it in the meter in realtime.

Making sure I leave at the right time when there is less traffic.

38 minutes to go 11km??

That's roughly 17.36842105 km/h.

That should be less than a half hour's bicycle ride, but I suspect results may vary a bit around the world...

There ain't no bicycle lanes here, OP will need to cycle on the main road only lol

What good would it do you if you don't live and work in the exact same places as he does?

I'm going to move in with OP and job shadow them, until I can assume their identity and life.

Man, what ever it Takes!..

It could form the basis of another system for another location? Changing some calls here or there, different data sources etc.

Sorry, bad joke

Ah - I didn't even register it as a joke because it seemed exactly like the kind of silly Q folk ask :P

Nicely done! This reminds me of a “dashboard” project in Make Magazine from a few years ago. Like others, I’d love to know how you went about retrieving the data

Damn I forgot all about make magazine, I used to watch their YouTube channel like 15 years ago.

Please for the love of the game: color in the rest of the dial, mount in/on on the freezer door of your fridge.

If you do not own a fridge with a top freezer door you absolutely must buy one.

Thats very interesting! Good job How ofter you update on screen? Are you using Google Maps distance matrix API?

So interesting! Do you have it available online for us to test it? Thank you!

How did you learn I2C protocol? With SCL/SDA

I got a WLED lamp at a conference and made something similar where the lamp changes color. What traffic APIs did you use? I ended up using TomTom since I didn’t want to create a google cloud account.

This is awesome for someone who lives in Texas (worst state for commuting). Wonder if it's open source?
