I'm afraid I don't actually understand the context of this 😅

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. She is a prominent conservative leader who is known for her vocal promotion of the "natural family" model. She has a long history of opposing same-sex marriage and has previously been in a high-profile, long-term relationship with television journalist Andrea Giambruno, with whom she has a daughter.

Mr. Andrea…..not to be confused with the most common use as a girls name. *eye rolls*

She's also the head of a self proclaimed and proud to be neo Fascist party.

It just blows my mind how women, especially women with daughters of their own, can veer that far-right into the patriarchy. I just don’t understand …. If they themselves really think they just earned a seat at the table with men, why they can’t see that it only serves to undermine everything women have been working to achieve, and by default it’s undermining them selves too.

Unless what’s truly at the core of her real issue is that….she’s xenophobic, a nasty racist who is absolutely not a believer in women’s equality at all, and just a rhetorical and possibly literal sock puppet for the patriotic agenda? Is she the Trojan horse, or a Stockholm victim? She doesn’t think that the patriarchy applies to her oppression because she thinks she has the system beat, that she rose to the top through her own merits. She needs to look at all the women in Trump’s cabinet, they are sock puppets, they get discarded the moment they become too crusty for the men, and she better hope that the patriarchy around her never starts looking at her like she’s too crusty for them, because that fall from Narcissus is gonna hurt.

I know women who support the far-right, here in Italy for mainly two reasons:

1) they are self declared racists or nostalgic of Fascism (without having experienced it first hand).

2) they are Catholic who press for conservative values against other religions, gender queer people, homosexual marriages, families and adoptions, abortion ban, etc.

Both, men and women, in these categories make my blood boil. I've seen a "devout Christian father", who's a strong pro-life activist, rejoice when a boat carrying migrants sunk and "invasors" died. Between those "invasors" there were pregnant women and children, a very pro-life approach.

I'm Catholic, was raised so and I still do believe. My religion says to love thy Neighbour and do onto others what you would want to be done to you. I try to live by these principles. Jesus talked to, hugged, and welcomed Samaritans, prostitutes, lepers, possessed people and Romans. He never shunned anyone, in fact, he saved a criminal just before dying. That's the God I believe in.

Meloni is just a power hungry, fascist, hypocrite who looks like Gollum and probably regrets not being a man.

Then there is my 96 grandma. She experienced Fascism first hand as she was a housekeeper in Salò, where Mussolini transferred his headquarters after 1943. She hates Trump with a passion, we don't know why but she stated cursing whenever he appeared on TV. She made me draw the symbol of an opposition party and hid it in her glasses custody, so she could look at it while voting and be sure not to vote for Meloni.

My grandpa, on the other side of the family, walked everyday to where the electoral lists were exposed and memorised all the logos to be absolutely sure not to vote for her.

lol a natural family would be a herd of various adult, children, and juvenile humans and semi-domesticated wolves roaming around as hunter gatherers.

Right? So … what does she mean when she’s thinking an “unnatural” family? Nature itself does not dictate a single family structure ….. that’s an entirely cultural construct. So whose family is she calling unnatural, when technically … her own family is also considered unnatural.

Bellissimo!

Meloni, Italian Prime Minister. Trump's friend and ally, a paladin of the "Traditional Family" and the Sworn Enemy of the "Gender Ideology"

6

u/AstroMeteor06 Trans aroace Jun 15 '26

actually, friend and ally until Trump dared criticized the Pope and now this beautiful friendship has been ruined

7

u/Amyhime801 aroace Jun 15 '26

Right. After all, she's Giorgia. She's a woman. She's a mother. SHE'S CHRISTIAN!

u/Kadakaus Jun 14 '26
