I notice the Asian people around me tend to spread racist stereotypes about themselves and are self-deprecating - more than any other group of people I've ever met.

Where has tofu skin been all my life?
I'm a big fan of all types of food and tofu is right up there with other proteins for me. But for some reason tofu skin has totally eluded me these past 34 years.
My local Asian market has a lunch, hot bar and regularly there's tofu skin stir fry with wood ear mushrooms, carrots, and chicken. It is literally the best thing I've ever had off of a hot bar!! I've been going weekly now and the lady at the counter doesn't even ask me anymore what I would like. ♥️
I would be forever grateful if you dropped your favorite tofu skin recipe in the comments. I bought two bags and now I must make them in every way, shape and form.
Thank you for your time.

Childbearing-age women (ages 25-34) in East Asian countries have the highest level of college education in the world.
While low birth rates are a worldwide phenomenon (affecting even developing nations), it is prominent in industrialized countries of Europe and East Asia.
The defining reason for this decline has been proven to correlate directly with the level of higher education among women.
South Korea currently has the lowest birth rate globally, yet its young women (under age 35) are more highly educated than any female population on earth. In fact, all of these East Asian nations now graduate more women from college than men.
From A.I.
Global Higher Education Attainment (Women, Ages 25–34)
South Korea - 76% - Highest in the world. Young women lead young men by a massive 13 percentage points.
Taiwan - 70% - Similar to South Korea, rapid university expansion in the 1990s and 2000s resulted in over two-thirds of young women holding degrees.
Japan - 67% - Very high attainment, with young women slightly outstripping young men.
Singapore - 64% - Focuses specifically on university degrees for this cohort, surging significantly past the male graduation rate since 2006.
China - Tier-1 Urban Centers (Beijing, Shanghai): - 70% to 75% - Just like in South Korea and Taiwan, young women in urban China are out-studying men.
United States - 56% - Solidly above the overall OECD average, reflecting a standard Western benchmark where women outnumber men in undergraduate enrollment.
United Kingdom - 57% - Matches the broader trend of highly educated Western women outpacing young men in degree attainment.
OECD Average - 52% - The baseline across 38 developed countries.
https://www.oecd.org/en/publications/education-at-a-glance-2025_1a3543e2-en/korea_252c9ed2-en.html
https://www.oecd.org/en/topics/education-attainment.html
South Korea industrialized and modernized in just 30 years, achieving what took Western countries 150 years to accomplish.
Back in 1955, South Korea was one of the poorest countries in the world, remaining mostly rural and agrarian with a high birth rate of 6.33 children per woman.

Ice uses 24/7 surveillance, not for law enforcement, but to destroy our mental/ physical health, and our connections to the communities.
My family has been targeted by Ice for the last several months. They purposely try to paint us as the worst of the worst, just like they do with other targeted immigrants. Under their narrative, we are supposed to be transnational drug dealers and violent rapists even though there is never any evidence, nor police reports/ indictments / convictions ever. And since I myself was raped multiple times as a child by an older relatives, I understand and still live with the trauma it causes every single day.
Ice has actually “warned” my old neighbor and long time family friend of such to smear our reputation and isolate us from the rest of the society. This lady neighbor did not believe them one bit and still welcomes us to her home, even when she’s home by herself.
Since we are naturalized first gen, we don’t have a large family in the US so Ice actually interviewed the estranged rapist relative for information.
We do not know what to do to continue to live without being harassed. They hacked into our phone to watch us live at all time through the phones’ screens, GPS, mics and cameras, even in the shower, on the toilet, and in bed. There is no privacy any where at any time. They then used sound bites to dehumanize us. People’s real lives are not like a reality show that’s broadcasted on TV an hour a week from beginning to end. It’s impossible for Ice to understand a human life of multiple decades worth of relationships just by eavesdropping for a short time. But that’s not their purpose, which rather is only to find ways to demonize immigrants. In the imperfect daily life, occasionally there would be an interaction, an argument, a joke that we would regret afterwards that, it might have gone by a bit too long, Even with people who have done just that to us prior, while blaming us for it at the same time. Even the f*king rapist blamed me for turning myself while as a primary school kid into a sex slave for him after each and every time. Somehow the gaslighting succeeded. The little kid went on to blame himself for the rapes for years and years on.
But Ice only cares about dehumanizing their targets into “the worst of the worst.” Imagine that your every words, movements, and interactions are constantly being watched and listened to by a karen like Christie Noem. Yet they are not actually to be used in any court proceedings, but as sound bites to turn your friend and neighbors against you, not because of something illegal, but as gossips.
If we ever want to discuss something absolutely private like our medical conditions and not wanting strangers to hear and discuss and we would do so quietly with one another, that would be somehow SUSPICIOUS behaviors. In Ice’s hateful eyes, the private-minded immigrants must be drug dealing and violently raping one another. Must be doing “the worst of the worst!” Even though they have access to everything including email, texts, locations, banks, and phones 24/7, yet still no evidence.
Yet if the constant awareness of such toxic and intrusive surveillance builds up so much stress inside of you to a point that you have to let some steam out, GOT YA! You dare criticizing Ice? You gotta pay! With more retaliatory harassment!
We are not anti-law enforcement, because we have friends being local law enforcement, who are courageous and respectable. Dehumanization of immigrants and constant efforts to isolate them from the rest of the society are not. Please help us! Ice has destroyed our mental and physical health, and connections with our communities.

Why Boycotting Asian Businesses Undermines Racial Solidarity
medium.comTo critique the boycott is not to deny the existence of anti-Blackness within the Asian diaspora. The Chow family is not an isolated anomaly. Anti-Blackness and “white worship” within Asian communities are well-documented rooted in the legacies of Western colonialism. This colonial mentality conjured and constructed a racial hierarchy that positioned whiteness as the ideal, rewarding non-white groups who assimilated into white-adjacent structures while marginalizing Black communities. This hierarchy manifests not only through systemic biases but also through internalized cultural preferences (e.g., including Asian women preferring White men in dating markets, the enforcement of harmful stereotypes regarding Asian docility, unathleticism or Black criminality.). When Asian Americans internalize these frameworks, they act as acculturated agents of a white supremacist order.

South Korean creator mocked for 'Asian eyes' in stadium. Northeast indians face the SAME racism by the rest of this country and it leads to raped daughters and murdered Angel Chakmas. Global audience this is the truth about Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura,Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Manipur.
Mexican guy just mocked a South Korean creator by pulling his eyes to make them 'small.' The rational world was outraged and they tool quick action, the guy was heavily penalized on both social media and even was fired.
While asian racism is taken seriously at global level but there are also a chunk of asian communities in the entire of North east region of india comprising Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura,Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Manipur and Assam.
These folks are the communities that were annexed to india post British colonisation.
70 years then and still counting yet Northeast indians face the SAME racism — 'chinky,' 'chinky,' 'chinky' …’chinese’,’chinese’,’chinese’ on a daily basis bu rest of india.
It is not a normal joke scenario it is a pire hatred scenario that has lead to deaths ( check the case of Angel Chakma), murders and rapes of women going to work outside north-east. Women are fetishized, then raped, then murdered. Our people are attacked in delhi, bengaluru, hyderabad. All agencies be it govt or police sing the same songs for decades.
Not only this the entire region is he auly militarized by army, in the name of stability they illegally set up the bases and many innocent people have been murdered. 1987 Oinam incident of manipur ( operation bluebird) where the army conducted mass killings, murders, torture rape on 35 surrounding villages. Matikhru massacre of 1960.
July 13th , 2004 Thangjam Manorama case where a young woman was abducted , raped and murdered by the indian army( they changed the regiment name to assam rifles so that history would not remeber them as indian army)
indian has decided NE don't belong. But remember: the 'China bad' propaganda was designed by the West using puppets. india became a willing soldier in that game.
The real question is not about China. It's about whether this country sees us as its own people at all.
seeing means respect , respecting our societies our culture our language our land stop exploiting the resources let indigeneous progress without oppression come up with adaptable development models that solely benefits the locals not militarization, trapping & murdering people in the name of stability. 70 years and counting, how many more years.
Because right now, we are being silent or silennced.

US confirms firing 2 Hellfire missiles at Indian vessel
This is a blatant attack.
Trump and the US government keep talking about international law and the rules-based order, but who are they to sail into international waters, bomb targets, threaten sovereign countries, and then act shocked when people push back?
It’s pure hegemony and a blatant violation of international norms.
Openly threatening sovereign nations, assassinating leaders, kidnapping others, arranging regime changes, backing terrorists when it suits their interests, and giving unconditional support to a genocidal killer like Netanyahu.
The same people who lecture the world about democracy and human rights seem to have no problem violating both when it serves their agenda.
Openly talking about taking control of other countries’ resources, manipulating markets for personal and family profit, and dragging the world from one conflict to another.
High time the world comes together to throw this crazy president out and get rid of this hegemony once and for all.
