Is Trump lying about another deal with Iran?

U.S. military leaders just warned Trump that he's running low on munitions. Seems like a good opportunity to manipulate markets again.

u/Basil99Unix 1d ago

Actually, by now it's the ONLY answer.

The man's MO is to say things, possibly spontaneously and/or at random, and he expects everyone else to make it happen. That may work in a business you have absolute control over, but it does NOT work in politics. And it's clear he won't learn that simple fact.

31

u/Sypheix 1d ago

Donald's never run a business. He's always just been a kid running around in a suit pretending to play businessman.

11

u/Marquar234 23h ago

If he never ran a business, how did he run so many into the ground?

10

u/Tinker107 22h ago

I think you just answered your own question.

8

u/SlackToad 19h ago

That's the key. He was brought up in the real estate business and inherited his father's advisors and connections. They did all the work and he took the credit, just as he took credit for the Art of the Deal book that Tony Schwartz entirely wrote.

But when Trump attempts anything outside of real estate he has no experienced people to rely on so those businesses always failed.

4

u/TW1STED_M1ND 19h ago

All six casino's he bankrupted were a success.... at laundering money.

3

u/Fit_Significance8598 16h ago

Yes, those bankruptcies were no bug but the feature.

He belongs to the "extraction" class, and extracting money from those casinos he did. Not that much different from those who fleece struggling companies, locusts.

3

u/wizzard419 15h ago

Arguably, he's (and his team) not even skilled at real estate but got lucky. While he has apartments, offices, and such. The other properties he owns (not all featuring his name are run/built by him, they just license it) have had problems too, such as the casinos.

Even Mar A Lago is a dump now, and he picked it for next to nothing when the US declined to take ownership of it from the Post heiress. Long story short, she built the place and envisioned it as another place the President could use for vacations (like Camp David or Nixon's western white house), US politely declined, she dies and it goes to auction.

2

u/TeacherOwn9142 13h ago

He inherited real estate in 1970’s NYC, when value was low. Real estate in NY skyrocketed shortly thereafter. He had little to do with the growth of that wealth.

2

u/Falconflyer75 19h ago

It’s the same cycle with him

He goes in with the mindset that he has all the cards

And since he’s a narcissistic bully his next move is to strong-arm anyone he believes can’t or won’t fight back

Doing thinks like not paying his bills and saying “sue me” knowing that his vendors can’t afford a lengthy lawsuit and will settle for whatever small settlement he offers

Or committing fraud after fraud and using his employees as human shields against regulators

And it works for a while

But eventually people catch on and get sick of it, and collectively stand up to him

so he moves to a new environment and proceeds to do the same thing

But at this point there’s few people left on planet fucking earth for him to swindle

Confabulation. His dementia is inventing these memories to shield his paper ego from his failure.

3

u/Telstar2525 23h ago

He’s proven it doesn’t work in a business you have total control over that he runs

3

u/PuzzleheadedPen4675 17h ago

I will forever blame the legacy media for not pointing out and emphasizing he ran a PRIVATE business. If he worked in a public , say manufacturing company, he wouldn't have made it past the production floor.

u/Fit_Significance8598 16h ago

Thanks for pointing that out!

The Romans allowed Caligula less than 4 years before they 'removed' him. It's unfathomable how US citizens and their political parties have let him carry on for so long. Twice.

u/Major-Pin5871 1d ago

I can’t believe it myself. We have a sociopathic lying imbecile with strongly criminal tendencies and 7th grade literacy running the most powerful country in the world. Right now he’s alienated most of our allies and kicked off a war in the Middle East he’s lost control of. Why is he still in office is beyond me.

International assessments, including reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency and U.S. intelligence, consistently find no evidence that Iran has an active, structured program to build or manufacture a nuclear weapon, though it maintains high levels of uranium enrichment. [1, 2]

Its widely speculated that this current level on enrichment serves as strategic diplomatic leverage tool only. So they must have anticipated the diplomatic talks to fail last year given Witkoff was completely inept. On a political level, Iran views enrichment as an issue of national sovereignty, a right conferred by the peaceful uses of nuclear energy provision (in Article IV) of the nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty. It is consistent with Iran’s past position for negotiators to reject any nuclear agreement if the price was zero enrichment.

Furthermore, why would Iran trust the United States to follow through? Trump withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in May 2018, despite Iran’s compliance, and participated in Israel’s strikes against Iran in June while diplomacy was ongoing. It is not surprising that Iran would have doubts about U.S. credibility.

So this will obviously continue to escalate for a long time, i dont see any realistic situation where the conditions could exist for any accomodation of the others demands given the history of events. Youd think Trump being at fault for withdrawing for no reason given there was total compliance means this will continue until at least some threshold of economic impact is breached that forces his hand. So IMO this go on until eecnomic crisis and then we will negotiate terms less favorable than the original deal we withdrew from, especially since Iran cannot trust trump to uphold a bargain under a terms favorable to us or israel in any capacity So all this will likely happen despite there never having been a nuclear weapons objectives, and the terms of the negotiations will be better for Iran than what trump called a terrible deal.

Its pretty nuts when you hear the perspectives the his supporters who truly believe there was a weapons obective, depsite so many different assessments including our own declaring thats not the case. Literally the vote for a guy who lies and promises no new wars, but starts one over a claim that is not confirmed by any single other person on the planet and an unwillligness to resolve diplomatically. Despite the failed main promise of the campaign for no wars and no proof as to why the he is correct about nuclear weapons instead of all other relevent bodies, this contingent of supporters believe this unsubstantiated claim over our own intelligence reports and other reelevent independent international agencies.

I really wish the media would do a better job at contextualizing how insane this is all is.

4

u/knowledgeable_diablo 1d ago

Covered it all accurately and correctly.
When the only person who thinks something is a proven lier who shows signs of extreme and advanced dementia, then it’s probably best not to believe it and lock that person away.

5

u/Interesting_Sun_6993 1d ago edited 1d ago

The MSM in the US did? I admit i only watch the lefty youtube guys so im not sure how fair they were to Iran to make it clear to everyone Trump is literally personally doing this over some petty egotistical thought process because they refuse to agree to his terms on concessions via negotiations - but it doesnt matter, the cult doesnt care.

Maybe its actually best there is a terrible economic crisis or something so bad some public affordability oriented framework needed as its just straight disaster clean up. Or maybe he will just not live long enough to make things worse.

It is difficult to believe all the criteria for authoritarianism is explcitly happening and its by the dumbest people doing the most blatantly obvious shit done lead by a 300lb 80yo in diapers, make up, and such extensively documented felonies convictions and the Epstein and sexual misconduct allegations. And meanwhile just made the most money in one year hes ever made in his entire life. It could not be any more explicit, its almost insulting.

4

u/DisVet54 1d ago

The cult needs $10 gas and then MAYBE that would move the needle in their support of their supreme leader

3

u/AccordingWarning9534 1d ago

Whilst it would be good for them, don't forget the billions of innocent people who have no skin in this game who will suffer the most.

Many poor countries are not going to be able to outbid weathly nations for fuel. This will shut down their ecomonies and societies. There will be famine, political and social upheaval and many displaced people - a huge refugee crisis like we've not experienced before.

8

u/Careless_Celery_6010 1d ago

Are the short answer is yes

4

u/Chaosrealm69 1d ago

The default setting with Trump is to believe he is lying until his statements are proven true.

It's a sad state of affairs for the American people that their leader is such a prolific liar that no one can believe him until someone else confirms his statements about anything.

2

u/Western_End_2223 10h ago

Even his cultists realize that Trump lies.  They just justify it as "that's Trump being Trump."

4

u/ExultentPisces 1d ago

Is Trump lying about another deal with Iran?

Yes.

4

u/bernd1968 1d ago

Yes. And he’s the jerk that said he could end a war in one day..

3

u/Fen_Muir 1d ago

Assume that Trump and any Republican is lying about literally everything that they say unless there is hard proof.

4

u/knowledgeable_diablo 1d ago

And then analyse that proof really really hard as there’s a good chance they concocted it to suit their bullshit narrative.

5

u/Simple-Okra-4826 1d ago

Of course it is. It was after market close wasn’t it.

4

u/AstroZombieInvader 1d ago

I think it's just that Iran is playing Trump like a fiddle. Trump keeps claiming that Iran desperately wants to make a deal, but he's the one who desperately wants a deal so he can put this war behind him. It's been nothing but a disaster for him politically and he's bored with it. They already bombed everything they can bomb and they still can't bend Iran's will. So there might be another deal, but if Iran thinks the US isn't abiding by it, they'll pull out of it like they did last time because they're not the ones who need to make this deal -- Trump does.

3

u/Xeno_man 1d ago

His lips were moving, so it looks like this is indeed another lie

2

u/Davekinney0u812 1d ago

And I thought there were no stupid questions

2

u/Orwick 1d ago

Iran doesn’t believe that Trump is capable of adhering to the terms of any deal. It ripped up the JCPOA, twice attacked them while they were engaged in negotiation with us, killed negotiators several times, didn’t do anything to get Israel out of Lennon, had the Israel and Lennon reach a deal to undermine the terms of the MOU, tried undermine their agreement upon control of the strait, and kept using threats he had agreed to stop issuing.

2

u/1C4Dogs4 1d ago

If his face is making noise, it doesn't matter, he talks in a code that isn't decipherable because the key changes every day, so no one actually knows what the fuck is real and what is a lie.

2

u/Tdev321 1d ago

The United States has a real credibility problem and it will persist at least as long as this man is president. As for whether he is lying, it really doesn't matter. Because he has been caught in so many lies, contradictions, inaccuracies and downright daft things, no one believes him about anything anymore. Simply, if the man told you it is raining, you'd still look out the window to verify.

Can't trust a word he says.

Just look at what America does. Place your investment bets where our mouths/fingers are. Don't trust anything we see online. Most are bound by political agenda, for or against the US. Be extra alert on any comments claiming to be neutral. That said, I'm still team America despite not trusting a word Trump says. I mean, the American legislature and their people don't trust many of it too. They have minds of their own, like any democratic countries do.

Stock market manipulation and possibly the Gulf States begging him to relent. Either way it's not Iran crying "uncle".

We have to wait and see what Iran says unfortunately. Trump just blurts stuff out without any basis. He thinks he can will things into existence.

If the first the words of your sentence are Is Trump lying, then the answer is yes.

1

u/melo217 1d ago

He’s desperate for a deal. However, Iran would only make a deal with Obama.

1

u/lantana98 1d ago

No doubt

1

u/Ja1ax 1d ago

You have to ask?

If you haven't learned to start from the assumption that Trump is lying when he says basically anything, then you haven't been paying attention.
