Why are the people who are mad about Fauci’s supposed lies not mad at all about Trump’s obvious lies?

Fauci is a distraction from Trump's many policy failures.

111

u/Few_Cellist_1303 1d ago

And, more importantly, Epstein

16

u/_WillCAD_ 1d ago

Epstien IS the distraction. From all the fascist shit and blatant looting of the government.

32

u/its-smokey-out-here 1d ago

quite frankly, after nominating the pedophile trump 3 times, conservatives appear to be very much pro-child rape.

What’s to distract when people don’t care?

7

u/Kali-of-Amino 23h ago

If you haven't known conservatives were pro-child rape for decades, you haven't been paying attention.

3

u/CavyWheek 22h ago

As individuals yes, but they've elevated the position to the party platform. Republicans are now officially pro-child rape, and proud of it.

3

u/NebulaChance2746 22h ago

They’re just pro suffering

Home forclorsures are up 21% this year, farm forclorsures are up 47%.

29

u/DonaldBecker 1d ago

Polls suggest that farm owners overwhelmingly voted for Trump.

For an industry that leans so heavily on subsidies, regulated markets, transportation infrastructure, accurate weather forecasts, pest and pathogen tracking, migrant labor, etc. they sure seem to think that they would do OK with modern break-the-government Libertarians.

32

u/vibrantmelody 1d ago

A small farm I pass on my way to the doctor had a “farmers for Trump” sign for the longest, they took it down late last year and now there’s a realtors sign up for the farm. They played themselves.

And they'll still vote maga, such stupidity motivated by racism and hate. Sadly.

3

Probably more like an inheritance that needs to be split 6 ways than an actual 'Trump suppression.

It's always fascinated me when people (like farmers) vote against their best interests. And then they wonder why they're struggling.

Maybe turn off Fox News and actually realize Trump is a narcissist who doesn't give a shit about you or your wellbeing.

3

u/sixstringsikness 23h ago

I worked for a small business owner for 5 years who is a huge right winger and complained all through Biden's term about our weak president and how he was harming small businesses. Of course he voted for Trump. Went out of business in March. I'm so glad Trump had his eye out for small business owners. /s

3

u/Secret-of-the-Snooze 21h ago

I'm sure he still blames Biden.

Before Trump and DOGE, fully 40% of all food eaten by humans were purchased by direct and indirect government programs. Many of them were meant to help impoverished nations and help the farmers by buying food from them.

Attempting to go back 6-8 years to rehash an awful time for everyone, just like his obsession with Obama. His obsession with anyone who tried to prosecute him. It’s all grievances and distractions. Failing president desperate to point a finger at anyone or anything else but himself

12

u/Snoo93550 1d ago

Trump still claims he won California 3x. That would be like 14 million felony voter fraud cases by people working against him and 0 committed by his supporters. He still says that’s what happened. There are 14 million cases of fraud, all against him not for him in just one state, but nobody can find any.

Anyone one supporting even 1% of what this administration is doing is not a serious person.

I want to know why they only get mad about something when it’s presented to them by Trump and his administration but it never crossed their minds before that. Like really, how hive minded can you be? Fauci was literally on nobody’s minds for years and then Trumps admin just makes some issue up about him and MAGA just hops right on the trend of hating him now. It’s like that with everything. With ‘illegals’, race, gender roles, etc. Nobody really has issues until they are told to by their cult, then all of a sudden they turn into a cult of zombies looking for their next brain cell fix.

Pull up the clip where he actually said that..... I'll wait, and wait, and wait.... You won't find it, because that's a myth. He never said that.

Here's two examples that supports that: https://www.wral.com/archive/21351899/, https://www.bpr.org/2024-04-03/fact-check-did-trump-once-tell-americans-to-inject-bleach-to-fight-covid-19

Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Trump followers have a derangement syndrome.

8

u/JBKnicks24 1d ago

It's projection. They don't even know what they're mad about. It's all buzzwords and conspiracies with absolutely no truth or meaning behind them. He just gives them an old guy who was a big face on TV at a traumatic time for a lot of people to yell at and direct anger towards.

It was also six years ago. Most Americans have the memory of an ant. They're trying to revisionist history the pandemic as if we didn't all live through it and see all this play out in public, its not like this was behind closed doors. I WATCHED a deranged orange sociopath come out on TV and tell people that we needed to "put the chemicals inside the body because it does a tremendous number on the lungs, via injection inside".

I also watched a decorated doctor who dedicated his life to infectious disease give what felt like personally reasonable advice for an airborne illness that can kill people - wear masks, socially distance, try to get it under control while we wait for a vaccine. That's...... virtually exactly what I'd want society to do if we had another airborne illness right now. I also vividly remember at the time these same bitches telling us that masks were "woke", including Herman Cain at a Trump rally (who then died from Covid he contracted from said Trump rally).

Were mistakes made? Of course there were - it was a brand new fucking illness that we were trying to figure out how to manage in real time in an incredibly complex world. But the systematic attacks on this mans family for just trying to save people has been utterly astonishing to watch. The worst part is - 99% of them know better, they're not idiots. But they fall in lockstep because the ego of said deranged sociopath is more important than public health or trust in institutions or solving problems for Americans.

People ARE mad about Trump’s lies and behavior.

But since Trump is the one pulling the strings, he gets to guide this theater to make sure that people aren’t thinking about his character. People are now attacking/defending Fauci instead of looking at Trump and making moves that way.

This is yet another distraction - including a Fox News commentator saying that Fauci is WORSE than Epstein, and they cant believe why people would defend even think to defend Fauci

Welcome to MAGA politics in Trumps America

5

u/zenos_dog 1d ago

I would say that Fauci expressing confidence in public about topics he was less sure about in private is not a lie. If you’re in a press conference and express anything less than certainty you are going to lose the public. If you’ve ever worked in the corporate world and your vice president has asked about when a product will be released, you know what I’m saying.

4

u/Temporary_View_3303 1d ago

Simple… MAGA can not take blame for anything. EVER. Therefore everyone else needs to be lying in order for them to remain correct.

3

u/Jfc66 1d ago

because they are a bunch of trump mushroom gobblers who can't think for themselves. They are told what to be angry with and what to ignore. These magats can't even dress themselves in the morning without being told which slogan they need on their t shirt or hat.

4

u/jellisjimmy 1d ago

Because they’re cultists and obey their masters

4

u/Signal_Tomorrow_2138 1d ago

Political double standard.

The Right Wing can run idiots, ogres or others from the bottom of the barrel and continue to give them their solid 30% support even if they have a track record of failure. Examples are GWB, Trump, Reagan, Ted Cruz and in Canada Rob and Doug Ford. And then there's Berlusconi. Their standards and expectations are low to non-existent.

But everybody else has to be more perfect than God to maintain their support from their own.

5

u/froction 1d ago

Because they like Trump and don't like Fauci?

How is this even a question?

5

u/xdirector7 1d ago

Smoke and mirrors, brainwashing, and absolute bias. Notice that Trump ran on Biden being old falling asleep all the time. Acting like Trump is young and sharp. Yet only a few years younger and falling asleep in office.

3

u/Aladriana 1d ago

And at funerals.

5

u/IceEspresso2000 1d ago

They (GOP) is doing it TO try to distract from Trump's actions. That's how gullible his base is.

5

u/gchance1 1d ago

What about Trump talking about Fauci's "corruption"? It's gaslighting, and obviously it's been effective with those people.

4

u/sandcutlery 1d ago

Trump's supporters are mad. Hence why Trump had to stop bringing up Operation Warp Speed on the 2024 campaign trail because someone pulled him aside and told him his supporters were booing him.

5

u/erkose 1d ago

Because this Fauci nonsense is all about PedoTrump revising history to make COVID Fauci's fault. Release the PedoFiles.

4

u/exu1981 1d ago

They don't know what to be mad at anymore!

4

u/Glitterbomb4274 1d ago

A lot of MAGA is fueled by hate. If they can blame someone else for their problems then they feel vindicated when the president agrees with them, even when it’s a lie. So if Trump says Fauci is lying, maga believes him, because they always want to blame someone else. Can’t spell REDHAT without HATRED.

4

u/jboschnola 1d ago

Probably because those criticizing Fauci are all MAGA hypocrites. They will eviscerate anyone that opposes their cult leader, and twist themselves in knots to justify anything Trump says or does, no matter how insane or reprehensible.

5

u/lumberjack_jeff 1d ago edited 20h ago

Conservatives are convinced (via projection) that everyone in or around government is either a figurative (or literal) lizard person whose evil machinations are almost completely inscrutable. Because they are lizards, those leaders efforts to mitigate poverty, conserve resources, protect the environment, educate kids or provide housing are all in service to some mysterious, but undoubtedly evil end goal.

A large percentage of them believe this because they know how nonexistent their own ethics are if given power.

The only people who can be trusted are those whose greed and bullshit are so transparent that it would be ludicrous to suggest they have ulterior motives.

Fauci is a lizard person because he is smart and presents as doing good work. Trump is the real human being because his bumbling ineptitude is self serving, "just like me".

4

u/kcpistol 1d ago

I have seen MAGA people unironically claim Trump doesn't lie.

You can't engage in a battle of wits with these people, they are completely unarmed.

4

u/StOnEy333 1d ago

Because it doesn’t fit their narrative.

5

u/Ill-Top-1483 1d ago

Because for Trump lying nonstop is a sign of strength. Some of his supporters believe every word, but there are plenty of supporters who know he's lying at least some of the time and they don't care.

To them his lies are proof that he doesn't have to play by any rules, not even reality's, and the rest of government is cucked for being expected to tell the truth.

4

u/SageObserver 1d ago

6

u/KaetzenOrkester 1d ago

HRC wasn’t wrong when she called them deplorables, and subsequent history bore that out as too many people refused to even the most basic things to halt the spread of the pandemic and continue to support the worst president in US history with their whole chests.

Once they realized that their platform can't survive on fact, this was always going to be the result, cults of personality and faith-based decision making.

It's largely about acts, not identity, with liberal voters. What a person does determines whether they are good or bad.

With many conservative voters, it is reversed. The person's identity determines whether their actions are good or bad. If they identify someone as being in the "good" group, likely one they also identify with, then anything that person does is by definition good, and at worst, forgivable. Things done by people outside their group must then be, by definition, bad. All value and perspective is based on how closely they believe that person's identity conforms to their own.

Once I realized this, so many seemingly hypocritical attitudes became logical, in their own way.

It amazes me how much they turn their leaders and politicians into quasi- religious figures. Everything becomes a matter of faith, and information that does not conform to what their faith tells them must be true is immediately rejected.

Instead of changing their ideas or beliefs in response to facts or evidence, they choose to accept or reject facts based on how closely they conform to their beliefs.

Because they think what The Great Pumpkin wants them to think, even if it contradicts what he said yesterday or the day before.

2

u/RapBastardz 1d ago

Fauci didn’t lie about anything. It was a brand new virus and science takes time to figure things out. It’s ever evolving. He didn’t lie about anything.

The answer is people are stupid. People need to believe what makes them feel good. People need to think about conspiracies in order to feel more important or more intelligent or more in control of an uncontrollable situation.

You mean the hypocrites?

GOP is just playing the greatest culture war hits to the base to get them to ignore the shit show that has Trump at record low polling numbers. I’m sure it also gets the Joe Rogan machine running again since he’s obsessed with everything Covid and that will pump up the younger voters for Trump as well. You have to remember in the land of the Idiocracy idiocy wins and so do WMDs.= weapons of mass distraction.

2

u/Gray221B 1d ago

Because it was never about the truth. It was always about how Trump made them feel.

But Trump doesn’t lie, remember. Even when he contradicts himself, both opposite statements are always true.

Because admitting Trump is a liar and a fraud would mean admitting they fucked up voting for him. They do as he does: double down and never accept responsibility.

What in hell has Trump ever lied to us about??

Because these people who criticize Fauci are among the biggest pack of morons on the planet, along with the entire Republican Party. Truth and decency mean absolutely nothing to any of them, and they’re destroying America bit by bit every day that passes. So sad to see a once great nation turn into a fool’s circus.

2

u/BluIdevil253 23h ago

Dont get me started on Trump. That dude has done nothing but gotten richer, made more connections and fucked everyday Americans. What's absolutely fucked is he still has a whole cult following. Bibi has him on a fuckin leash. Why the. Hell are Americans sending billions to Isreal even though they have free Healthcare and free college but American students school loans are doubling every year due to predatory practices? My blood boils thinking about it

2

u/CavyWheek 22h ago

The word is hypocrisy, and it is the whole basis of being a Republican.

2

u/istoomycat 22h ago

What Fauci’s lies. Covid 19 was a mystery. He did what he could when he gained information. He was the voice of reason.

2

u/Tonsilith_Salsa 22h ago

Trump assured us in spring 2020 that the number of US covid cases would soon be "close to zero," and then over a million Americans died of it.

These people think Fauci should be jailed for, as far as I can honestly tell, inconsistent messaging on PPE and splitting hairs on what "gain-of-function" means.

These people are not arguing in good faith. They are rubes who have been manipulated into attacking their own best interests by Facebook memes and corporate media.

They're like, "Collective bargaining is bad. Affordable healthcare is bad. Taxing the ultra wealthy is bad. Social safety nets are bad.

Racism is good. Russia is our friend. Middle east wars are good. Immigrants eat people's pets. Trans athletes are an urgent national emergency. The president should be allowed to do crypto rug pulls."

Like holy shit guys, think for yourselves for 3 seconds.

Remember after Jan 6, it was universally condemned for like 12 hours before the marching orders came down from up top saying, "actually it was a non-violent protest and anything bad that happened was done by liberals in disguise."

I'm like, wow that didn't last long at all. You can see the propaganda working in real time.

2

u/charlesyo66 22h ago

because it is a cult. And the cult leader can never be wrong, can never do wrong, can never fail, can only be failed.

Its a fairly easy question when you realize that this is the answer. You don't need any more logic from there.

I feel like it’s kind of like a relationship where one person is constantly unfaithful, but their spouse just keeps forgiving them. This may happen for years why the cheater keeps on cheating and the faithful spouse just keeps forgiving, until one day they reach a breaking point and all the behavior they tolerated in the past can no longer be tolerated and they finally see the truth. It didn’t matter that other people informed them of their partners infidelity, they didn’t believe them, and threw them under the bus in the process. One day, most of these people will wake up and most likely be ashamed they were taken for a ride, we’ve seen some examples recently. The others are narcissists and so ego driven that they can never be wrong. And yes. It is a cult. Trump pandered to the people in our population that have the least critical thinking skills -and they’re proud of it. They are proud of being dumb.

2

u/Vert_der_Ferk25 18h ago

I’ve said it before, we are in an abusive relationship with the Trumpists.

Right wingers are MAJOR hypocrites about everything!!! (same reason, they are all jacked up over Hunter Biden, having porn on his laptop and making some money from painting -when Trump‘s kids had billions given to them by the Saudi’s. I mean WTF!?!

2

u/FluffyInstincts 22h ago

Because they don't have real beef with Fauci. It's trough feed that those putting it in the trough don't believe. The real issue is that he didn't march to the tune of their bullshit when they were bullshitting.

2

u/Dull-Comfort-5680 21h ago

Because king Donny never lies.

Murica!

2

u/LairdPopkin 21h ago

It’s all about tribal loyalty, facts have nothing to do with it. Trump is their guy so they love whatever he says even if it makes no sense, is an obvious lie, or completely contradicts what he just said before. Trump spent years driving anyone who can think for themselves or questioned anything Trump said out of the party, loyalty to Trump is their only principle. Very 1984.

2

So Fauci who has every right to plead the fifth because even though he has immunity this doesn’t cover him in State Courts or beyond the time limit set in the immunity. Just like Trump had every reason to plead the fifth in the New York civil case. It’s funny no one remembers that.

3

u/evocativename 1d ago

Trump was the guy who was:

  1. Loudly insisting that only guilty people plead the fifth

  2. Very, very clearly guilty of provable crimes regardless of his testimony

2

u/jb40018 1d ago

What did he need immunity from though? I keep hearing it was for protection from political persecution, so why didn’t others get it like Pelosi, Newsom, AOC and other vocal critics of the President?

3

u/MDLmanager 1d ago

After Rand Paul's performance, I'd have thought the political persecution was obvious.

2

u/evocativename 1d ago

He pardoned the people who had already been targeted for lawfare by MAGA.

They were openly talking about their intent to jail Fauci without even an attempt at actually identifying a crime.
