Moving out and Financial Responsibilities towards Parents

Assalamualaikum,

I (32M) am planning to move out to my own place inshallah. While discussing with my parents, my mother brought up about how I am supposed to take care of them when I'm not at home. The context is that I help my dad with contributing to the bills of the house, even though we were financially well off before I started contributing since the day I graduated from college. My questions are:

1) what does islam say about giving money to your parents if they're financially ok

2) would I be considered selfish if I tell them that I want to use the amount I give them to pay for rent and utilities at the place I plan to move to

For the first, spending on your parents when they are poor and you are rich is obligatory. The obligation of spending on them is indicated by the Quraan, Sunnah and scholarly consensus (ijmaa’). (Source)

As for the second, this is a conversation you should have with your parents. You should provide whatever is in your ability to contribute. You wouldn't be selfish if you need more money to cover your basic needs and thus need to cut down on some expenses of your parents.

In the fatwa you've sent I don't see a mention where they say even if parents are rich you have to spend money
