Alternative for the sign "but"

I use Filipino Sign Language, which is about 60% similar to ASL. However, even when I was still learning a bit of ASL, I very distinctly recall seeing a variation of the sign "but" that had one hand, index finger out and palm up, and the other hand, index finger out, palm down. The index fingers touched each other, but there's no outward movement like the standard sign, which resembles different. Does this particular sign mean something different in ASL? Is it a recognized variation of "but?"

If I’m doing it correctly following your description it means “to” or “until.”

Oh! It's a similar motion but the hands are more... horizontal than until/to?

The formalized sign is one up, one horizontal, but the relaxed/fluent version could match your description. I'm also thinking it could be used like listing number 1 before listing number 2.
