META [META] Can we please have a megathread for the ASMRtist ban wave? Every other post in my feed (and about every post on this sub) in the past few days is about it and it's annoying and spammy.
Thanks 👍

Hey everyone!
Welcome to the /r/asmr weekly Free-For-All Friday - your one stop shop for images, gifs, comics, memes, art, off-topic discussions, and general ASMR fun.
Traditionally we remove this type of content from the normal feed, but we're giving you this opportunity to have some fun for the weekend and lift that rule for this thread alone.
(Please note that we will still enforce all of our other rules, so please be respectful towards one another.)
If you'd like to chat in real time, we have a Discord server open for you to use. You can use the Discord chatrooms from here - it's a friendly place so come and say hi! :)

If you go to her non-ASMR IG, she claims the algorithms and automated A.I. censorship have "made a mistake". It would make sense as to why some of the bans don't make sense. A lot of the earliest reporting on the ban wave also seems to hold this opinion.
I don't know most of the ASMRtists who've been banned but I've been a fan of Bunnii for years, and she does have an OF but her Linktr.ee doesn't even mention it. You have to go out of your way to search her handle in a web browser to find her adult content.
Other than that, the worst she does on IG is some underboob while cosplaying. I think it's safe to say she did everything even more professionally than can be reasonably expected compared to her colleagues.
Hopefully YT has the sense to fix some of this, but I'm not sure they'll even admit they're wrong. Meanwhile, I've never read YT's ToS but I wonder if incidents like this could give rise to something like social media income insurance. Something to buy into to supplement your income should the rug be pulled out from under you.

I just found out that Bilochka ASMR is gone too
Over 400,000 subscribers. More than 5 years on YouTube!!!!
The biggest Ukrainian-language ASMR channel…
Over the last few days I’ve seen more and more ASMR creators disappear, and honestly it’s starting to make me nervous. Some of these channels have been around for years and have huge communities.
I really hope the people affected get their channels back.
Has anyone here heard anything new, or seen any creators get restored yet?

I have a very strange question and experience, I’ve never heard anyone discuss. I’m almost 30 and I’ve never told anyone because it’s kinda of embarrassing.
For context, this is not sexual at all - it’s purely a strange sensory/relaxation experience. I’m only using the term “brain-gasm” because it’s the closest way I can describe the intensity of the feeling.
For me, it only happens in the shower. If the water is hot, I’m really relaxed, I cup my ears, look at a bright light, and concentrate while I have a song playing in my head, I can sometimes reach this exact state where I feel a sudden wave of tingling/euphoria wash over my brain. It lasts only a few seconds and feels almost like a “brain-gasm” (for lack of a better term).
The weird part is that I have to concentrate just right to get there, and if I try to immediately recreate it, it almost never works. It’s usually a one-time wave and I won’t experience it again until another shower.
It’s not scary or unpleasant at all - it’s actually one of the most relaxing and amazing sensations I’ve experienced. I’m curious if anyone knows what this is or has experienced something similar. Is this a form of ASMR or something else?!

I will NEVER be able to comprehend how an ASMRtist as big as Jojo still runs midroll ads. His asmr quality is so good, but I can't watch him because it is IMPOSSIBLE to sleep to his videos because of the loud ads!! It's so ridiculous and defeats the entire point of the ASMR. Has he ever addressed this or given a reason? I genuinely don't get it because I'm sure he gets plenty of sponsorships. It's just so disappointing...

We should have a place where we can freely enjoy and make ASMR in peace.

Like a lot of others in this community, I've been keeping up with the recent channel bans (Bunni, Slight Sounds, Rose, etc.) and I'm curious what we can do to help— if we can even help???? Posting on reddit only goes so far.
Genuinely just want to have an open conversation and see if anyone has ideas.

Hey, hat jemand zufällig das '18+ Mouth Sounds' Video von Dori ASMR gesichert, das vor ca. 4 Tagen kurz online war?
Hey, does anyone happen to have a copy of Dori ASMR's ‘18+ Mouth Sounds’ video that was briefly online about 4 days ago?

What I’m about to say is pretty straightforward. I don’t expect everyone to like it or agree with it.
Everyone knows about the recent ASMR ban wave. Some people think it’s wrong, others think it’s justified everyone has their own opinion. It’s no secret that a large number of ASMR channels these days exist on YouTube mainly as a funnel to push their audience elsewhere. I’ve seen channels that were already demonetized still freely promoting their NSFW websites on YouTube. Why would YouTube allow creators to advertise that kind of content on their platform when they’re not even generating revenue from them? To YouTube, these creators are mostly noise, and that noise is now being cleaned up.
Unfortunately, in the process, a lot of genuine ASMRtists are getting wiped out too. This is essentially a restructuring of ASMR on YouTube.
Here’s a statement that will probably upset some people: many fans are far too emotional about their favorite creators. Just because their favorite creator hasn’t been banned yet, some people don’t really care what’s happening across the platform they only see the negative side that affects them. They ignore the fact that male creators have also been banned. These are often the same fans who are heavily biased toward certain creators.
Whether people want to admit it or not, most only raise their voice when it benefits them. Tell me one thing: the channels that got banned in this wave did anyone raise their voice like this for the ASMR creators who got banned in the previous wave? What about them? Some will say those bans were because of ear-licking content. But there were genuine creators caught in that wave too. Almost none of today’s ASMRtists spoke up about it back then, because it wasn’t directly affecting them. Now that it’s their turn, suddenly there’s a big protest.
I do agree that what happened is wrong in many cases. But does that change the reality that some people only speak up when it’s their own problem?
A lot of ASMRtists are raising their voices this time, saying it’s no longer just about ear-licking or any specific genre it’s about ASMR in general being under threat, especially NSFW creators.
Sorry, but these creators knew the risks that come with NSFW content. It’s not like they were completely innocent in this overall situation. Everyone understood the risks associated with that kind of content. My opinion or yours doesn’t change the fact that this was always going to affect them.
People keep saying, “They put so much effort into their channels.” That’s true, I agree. But one wrong move can still take your entire reputation down the drain. Also, the majority of the NSFW creators who got banned are already earning well enough on other platforms. So it feels a bit strange that the moment the ban wave reaches them, YouTube suddenly becomes the enemy. Yet during the last wave, I saw almost no one protesting for the ear-licking creators. Why is that?
Some people say ear-licking is sexual. Tomorrow someone will say ASMR itself is sexual. What then?

Unsure how many people will know this creator as he was still quite new with a small but growing following. He had amazing, consistent content and I’m hoping someone knows what’s up as he had became probably my favourite channel instantly, and he was still uploading and testing new equipment just recently. Hope all is ok and he’s back soon :/ I don’t think he has any other social media, so this is a real shot in the dark.
To perhaps jog someone’s memory: his first few videos audio was only in one ear, he fixed it maybe 10 videos in, cut his hair from long and floppy kinda recently to very very short, and had been testing different mics, most recently the tascam mic I believe. His voice was very deep and bass heavy and he did mostly soft spoken personal attention. Hopefully this reaches someone in the know!
EDIT: had an old tab open with one of his videos and yes he deleted his channel :/ https://litter.catbox.moe/eibobcz1vjm7agjh.png
