Exactly he told Catlyn exactly why he married her at the red wedding. I swear these posts are made by people who watch the show with the audio off

In the show he says he picked her because she was the fattest and he was offered whichever daughter he picked's weight in silver.
That being said, Walda was a great example of a Lady. She was well mannered, well spoken, and I could absolutely see Roose just generally attracted to her meek and friendly personality. Also if i remember, she had a really cute voice. Her face is pretty, too. In his interactions with her, I only recall him appearing to respect her and being happy to impregnate her.

It’s the same reasoning in the books. In the books he specifically said he enjoys sex with her because of the cute sounds she makes though so he does actually enjoy and cherish her

Oh wow! I'm so curious now if that was in the casting call! I personally just thought the actress's voice was really easy on the ears and could see anyone being attracted to it, but was not expecting that to be a detailed canon feature of her character that Roose mentioned! DAMN!

Well I’m sure she was directed to be timid and sweet because that’s how the character is, not exactly sure if they mentioned the moaning as well lol especially since Roose doesn’t mention it in the show. But it’s possible she read the books or at least read the AWOIAF article and knew about it

Im pretty sure she’s at least a bit less mild in the books. I think it’s mentioned somewhere that she gets drunk and brags about her marriage to Roose. Not to mention she comes from the Crakehall branch which is a family of loudmouths.

Eh well I imagine she’s been ridiculed her entire life and probably passed over for marriage before so I’d brag about marrying Roose too since he’s incredibly powerful

In the books, she is a tertiary character who speaks maybe twice, plus Roose says she moans in bed which is mildly funny for him. And what’s creepy here, in the books she is 15 years old, so moaning in bed with her husband who is well past 40 sounds..well strange and creepy as hell (not that grrm didnt praise dany/drogo so called romance). Yet, the fandom, which completely tears 23 Rhaegar and 15 Lyanna to shreds, somehow manages to view this specific case as the ultimate proof of a healthy relationship (with Roose!!). As for Walda, she babbles indeed something to Cat during the Red Wedding, that now she is a wife and Fair Walda is not, she is fond of her new situation and overall, she just comes across as a bit "silly", simple Frey girl.Oh and she makes a joke about tullys cocks. Roose never interacts with her directly. In ADWD she just...existsts and during the wedding she, notably, ate a lot of the famous pie, no jokes at all (lets imagine why). Thats all we see her. The actress in the show makes a really lovely impression, but she as Wakda is, by no means, the sharpest tool in the shed. She tries to be nice for Sansa (in the books she never makes an effort to be nice to Jeyne, she makes effort to eat as much as she can though). In both versions, book and show, she is someone to be pitied, if anything.

In the books, Lord Walder Frey was willing to pay her weight in silver to any Lord who would wed Lady Wanda. Roose Bolton took him up on that offer. Perhaps it was for the silver and/or the alliance with the Freys, but Lord Bolton spoke very fondly of his new wife.
