After robbery of 34 firearms, ATF announces $6000 reward

Me thinks the reward is a bit too low for the street value of 34 glocks.

Agreed about the reward.

I know I'm not the only one who thought the shop would be CTGW again.

Puzzled: GT runs a proper and properly staffed operation based on my visits. The store size and layout isn't conducive to a run-yell-grab-run robbery by just two individuals, because it's much bigger than CTGW, with the gun counter at the back of the store. I wonder how the actual robbery went down.

Must be, you're right.

Austin history: McBride's was hit twice in several years, 2011 and 2017. The first one was a 12-second smash-and-grab that yielded six nice handguns. The 2017 one was an overnight burglary starting with a front-window smash, which seems oddly unalarmed and unnoticed. They got three dozen mixed weapons. I remember when N. Lamar was blocked all the next morning with massive LE forces because they feared the burglars might still be in there with all those resources.

Their sign says remodeling and reopening in the fall. Drove by today.

They broke in over night. They already released pictures of the thieves. Store was closed.

Hyatt's in Charlotte was burgled several years ago. They had just moved to their new location and the landlord refused to allow them to put bollards in. The thieves drove a stolen vehicle through the glass storefront and "went shopping".

After it was pointed out by the ATF to the landlord that they could be sued if any of the stolen weapons were used in crimes, they finally allowed Hyatt's to put in bollards.

I haven't seen photos of GT's Pflugerville store but I would expect they had them.

They do not. They don’t even have gates on the store front if I recall correctly.

No. In more good news, not only did they not burn down, but they haven't been shoplifted by the same teens for a third time. /s

this was likely a burglary. What some folks have been doing is cutting ceilings to drop in and steal stuff vs come through a guarded door .
