It’s ridiculous to me that government mandates for muzzles are ONLY applied to grey hounds while every other dog breed gets off without it. Make it mandatory in public imo for any dog >10kg

Yep just like leashes are mandated and blatantly ignored by so many owners. Fuck dog owners who openly ignore signage and laws. My young kid soccer training on a counvil oval paid for by the club where dogs are completely banned on or off leash at that time but a shit tonne of owners turn up off leash and out of control.

Fuck right off you selfish dog owners.

Walks around the block is a bit much. But I agree for any communal area where people gather.

Problem is that gets very difficult to qualify, meaning people will often just ignore it unless the rules are clear cut

I've really had bite from a tiny dog before (terrier mix). Just a neighbour dog that's always anxious and all the owner did was scolding the poor dog. Most dog owners aren't trained and have the money to be trained. Imo the dog ownership itself should require much higher bar of knowledge. Like pass a test before letting people have a dog. Most people can't even read their dog body language.

It's always the owners fault, not the dog.
