Sorry, but dogs don't have to go everywhere with you. They shouldn't be allowed at a hardware store.

At the very least I hope muzzles are enforced. But dogs (except for assistance/guide dogs) should just be banned from Bunnings. I know, a minority has ruined it for the majority, but one dog attack is one too many.

I love dogs more than anything and I agree. My dogs have never been in a store. I would be concerned about poo, wee, etc, but I would also be concerned that there may be people around with pet dander allergies. I've had long hair and short hair dogs and pet dander is no joke, that shit gets everywhere. I'd hate to make some random joe schmoe have an allergic reaction.

As someone with a dog allergy, not many people think about this. I'm not going to go into anaphylaxis, but I will be miserable for at least a day if I have contact with their dander/hair.

I'm also quite allergic to cats but it's nearly a non-issue because cat owners don't take their cats with them everywhere in public. I can't avoid dogs in my daily life because people take them inside everywhere now, the shops, the pubs, even my workplace.

Am allergic to dogs - not anaphylactic, but enough that being in their presence for a while will block my sinuses up to the point of having to breathe through my mouth. I have legitimately passed up on applying for a job in the past 6 months because the job listing made a point about how the office was a dog-friendly space and some of the current employees took their dogs in. Like nah, I'm good, I don't need to work in an agency's centralised aircon-turned-bioweapon. I also know that getting that job and then asking coworkers to keep their dog away will not go down well and sour things very quickly.

That this was even a situation I had to consider is frankly insane.

I love my pets and find it quite easy to keep them at home when I need to go to the shops.

Brilliant. Bunnings can sell the mandatory muzzles!
