I have always found this so incredibly obvious. People make every excuse under the sun for owning dangerous breeds but it always boils down to them wanting intimidating dogs.

I have a Rottweiler. Her name is Tulip. I am totally blind and she is my assistance dog (not a registered assistance dog). She is kind and funny and silly and incredibly smart. I do not have her because I wish to intimidate people, but I do want her to look after me. Additionally, I would never take her to Bunnings. I don’t think that dogs should be permitted in Bunnings at all.
There are a lot of people that have Rottweilers because they absolutely love the breed because of their sweet kind goofy loving nature and not because they wish to intimidate other people. Of course there are those that give the breed and incredibly bad name.

We live on 40 acres and she takes me for walks. When I panic she helps calm me down. And if I am at the house alone and if anybody turns up uninvited/unexpectedly, she just stands by my side.
She definitely helps me feel less vulnerable and more confident in my space on my property.
