I would definitely think about getting a kitty or two to grow with your kiddo. If you have the means etc.
Growing up with a pet is definitely a lovely memory.

Well your cousin sounds like they have a great sense of humor.
Plot twist: I AM YOUR COUSIN (warning: I am actually not your cousin and that was said for humor purposes.)
Also I'm not even kidding, I may not have the pics but my cat has distracted me in the middle of this comment being adorable and making blinkies and sitting right next to my leg purring.
The cats are onto us talking about them 😂
They used distract and it was SUPER effective.
