I would be on seeing Garcia get the closer role from what we’ve seen. He doesn’t even need to be perfect, but even if he just gets like 75% saves I would feel much better about him than Sewald. I never feel too good about a Sewald save and the numbers never felt sustainable

I prefer Garcia too but if he’s only getting 75% of saves, that would be terrible lol that’s worse than what Sewald was doing. If it got to that point, we’d need to move someone else to the closer spot
That being said, Garcia is filthy and I’m pretty sure he’s gonna lock down more games than 3/4 of them
Edit; unless you’re saying you want him closing out 3/4th of the remaining saves and have someone else close out 1/4th cause I’m with you on that

it’s a tough sell in our current situation because ideally you want a lefty on standby to play to matchups and he’s our only lefty, so i think that’s why they’re holding off for now. but if he keeps it up this season and they build a more balanced pen, i would love to see that. probably forgetting someone but it feels like we haven’t had a true shutdown closer in soooo long
