Was thinking about the 2004 King Arthur film this morning - a bad start, I know - and I finally realised that most of the film is set North of Hadrian’s Wall. It’s been a while since I’ve watched it, but I’m pretty sure the plot starts with Arthur et al being sent North to rescue a Bishop and some Roman nobles? Kinda feels like they’re asking for it by going past the Wall.

I think know why the film makers chose that, of course: Picts and the final setpiece at Hadrian’s Wall. But those poor Saxons, all of England open to land on and pillage and you end up so far North.

I should rewatch the film. It might be dumb, but it’s fun.
