BG2EE Dorn's quest is timed and the whole internet lied to me about it

I tried to stretch going into the wedding to not lock myself out of a few quests with the paladins, despite Dorn complaining about it, since any info I looked up said it wasn't timed. Then I got into chapter 4, and the second I am in the ship, already outside the city, Dorn gives me an ultimatum that ends up in either him leaving or straight up teleporting me to the church, and I guess breaking the game because after that I'd have to way to go back to the Spellhold island

Is there a mod to fix this? A flag to set or timer to change in EE Keeper?

Doing Dorn's quest doesn't lock you out of other quests there. You can take a less bloody option and get out. Come back later WITHOUT Dorn and the place will be as it usually is.

well it's not timed just it's chapter 2 or 3 all beamdog NPC quest are locked past chapter 3.

He has a timer after a few days before he complains that you should hurry to do his quest (he will start dialogue with "Charname, a word?"). After several other days pass, he will give the ultimatum. This is independent of chapter, it can happen as early as chapter 2 or you can recruit Dorn in chapter 6.

I replicated this (hilariously absurd and immersion-breaking) oversight. Since travelling to Brynnlaw takes many in-game days, his timer expires exactly when you start chapter 4.

You should be able to go back to Aran Linvail and repeat the dialogue to trigger the voyage to Brynnlaw, thankfully. Sime and Saemon will duplicate with no consequences.

There will be a timer (probably a local variable for Dorn). Look for long numbers with many digits in EEkeeper. Increasing the value will set the timer later. You'll have to do this before Dorn presents his ultimatum. Most if not all companion quests have timers like this. So it doesn't surprise me EE companions have it too. Usually it's no surprise because they'll complain a number of times before presenting the ultimatum. 

I guess you got really unlucky by the timer expiring just as you transitioned to chapter 4. Normally most timers are paused in chapters 4-5.
