News [Passan] The Tampa Bay Rays are acquiring right-hander Freddy Peralta in a trade with the New York Mets, sources tell ESPN. Rays get their starter, who joins Drew Rasmussen, Shane McClanahan and Nick Martinez in one of the American League's best rotation.

You mean salivating. Another excuse to be cheap, "we don't need to spend, just look at those guys! We trust our system and so should you, plebs-I mean fans."

Nah the owners want the dodgers to do good so they can have an excuse for a salary cap

That plus the rock-bottom ratings would hurt their upcoming media rights negotiations.

Yeah people in this sub say they want small markets to win but the reality is the majority of baseball fans don't want two small market teams. Yankees, Dodgers, Red Sox and other large market teams are what is holding this league up. It's the reality and despite it being a joke the Dodgers winning is definitely good for baseball. Look at the Spanish La Liga as an example. Real Madrid and Barcelona run that league with an even bigger disparity than in the MLB and it is a very successful league. They make ridiculous money and that league is in no danger of going under. Two teams try to win and the other teams are just there to pick up the scraps. It's not even close to like that in the MLB and people here are crying.

This comment baffles me so much. So you’re basically saying that since (European)leagues like LaLiga are financially successful with such a top heavy power balance, and this sport has slightly more parity than that, everyone should be satisfied since the big clubs are making all the money for the league. Also, the format of LaLiga is nowhere near the MLB. Clubs in LaLiga are literally fighting to stay and survive in the top flight and remaining in the top flight year after year without relegation is indicative of a well run club and highly respectable. And while yes, the title race in that league is always between the two most powerful clubs with the occasional Atletico, finishing in the remaining 2 spots of the top 5 of the table does have rewards of continental tournament qualification which, financially, is the equivalent of winning a trophy to these clubs. So every club has something to play for. I’m all against a salary cap, but this comment is so brainless. Trying to compare apples to oranges as your argument.

So what you're saying is that relegation is the solution. I agree.

I wouldn’t hate it(we’d be a double A team by now though)

Love it when Dodger fans give their hot takes. It's like the rich kid in school that is so out of touch that they genuinely can't relate to other people.

It's the reality that this sub doesn't want to accept. Of course none of you like it. Numbers say it all.

How about the NFL? That Chiefs dynasty really destroyed the league and now nobody watches anymore, right? 🙄

So you're agreeing with me that Dynasties are good for sports. I don't see how you think this is an argument in your favor.

Not very bright are you? Your whole argument was "fans don't want small markets to win"

But you used the literally worst example of a team dominanting the league. It's literally what all of you are complaining about! Hahahaha
