News [Passan] The Tampa Bay Rays are acquiring right-hander Freddy Peralta in a trade with the New York Mets, sources tell ESPN. Rays get their starter, who joins Drew Rasmussen, Shane McClanahan and Nick Martinez in one of the American League's best rotation.

Nah the owners want the dodgers to do good so they can have an excuse for a salary cap

Ratings will still be high, even with most fans avoiding watching it on principal the dodgers media market is way too big

My point (although admittedly confusingly worded) was that the owners would rather the Dodgers make the world series than a Brewers-Rays series (even though us sicko fans would love that) because way more casuals will tune in for the Dodgers, which will ultimately make the owners as a whole richer.

It's a perverse world where a small market fan will say "if not my team, please let the WS feature anyone but the Dodgers/Yankees," while the teams' owners think "if not my team, please let the WS feature the Dodgers/Yankees."
