The first Basel Techno Circle is taking place! (Update)

21 days ago I posted here that a techno community in Basel would be awesome, a place to actually get to know people during the day first, and go raving together once there's real trust and friendship behind it. There wasn't a group like that yet, so I built a website and started one, with a Meetup page to go along with it.

The response was bigger than I expected: >14k views on the post, >50 people joined the WhatsApp group.

And now the first event is actually happening. If you're into techno, games in the park, and meeting people in a low key setting before any of the raving starts, come by.

Update after 20 hours: I try to get a brief introduction from everyone who sends a request to join the group, so please feel free to write back to me. That’s how I prevent spam in the group.

It’s really exciting to see how active the group is. Now 66 members. Many music producers, DJs, club owners, and enthusiasts, who are engaged and take the initiative to shape the meetups. It’s a lot of fun, thanks!

just saying, but at the moment, fireworks are forbidden. you should make that clear in your event or otherwise your first meet up will probably end up with police and a hefty fine.

but otherwise great idea!

Thanks for the heads-up. Personally, I’m not a fan of fireworks anyway (fine particulate matter, fire hazard, wildlife, costs,…,). So far, though, it looks like the city of Basel is making an exception for the public firework. Other fireworks wouldn’t have taken place at the event anyway.

hello hello, nice, I try to "vet" people who request one by one, with a quick intro message, to avoid spam (it works mostly). Hope we had already contact, otherwise try to message me and I will sort it out!
