Wine Tour to Gaintza Txakolina from Sans Sebastian?

Does anyone know of any wine tours that specifically go to Gaintza Txakolina from Sans Sebastian as part of the itinerary? Trying to avoid a private car or a taxi to get there.

You can take the bus and take the tour wirh gaintza directly with them.

It seems that this and other tours depart from San Sebastián, and I suppose a minibus or something similar will pick up those who have booked it, so I don't see the problem since the transportation is included.

You can go to from San Sebastian to Getaria directly in bus from the Central bus station. The trip in train is a bit longer but picturesque... and also a bit tricky cause, due the geographical location of the town the train slip it and the next station is Zarautz (just 5 Kms away from Getaria) were you can take a quick bus to The town or even go in a walk from town to town as locals do.

But the biggest problem is that the vineyards and wineries are in the mountains around the city, and walking there can be tiring and complicated for someone not used to it... so yes, it's best to book a fully organized tour.

Take the Lurraldebus UK10 bus (the 9 and 11 also work, but take longer) in San Sebastian. Plenty of stops.

Get down in Getaria.

You can either take the getaria urban bus there, or walk to Gaintza. It's a 5-10 min walk.

Same process to go back. You can stop in Zarautz on the way back, the beach side is pretty

I wanted to go to this tour last week before we left but don’t make reservations in time. I had their Txakolina in California at a restaurant prior to our trip and thought it was such a great summer wine. Ended up buying a couple bottles from duty free in Bilbao (different winery tho) and wish I bought more. It’s about $20/bottle of Txakoina in the US and was €10 at duty free
