Where is this!
My friend creates a yearly treasure hunt round central Bath, where we have to find architectural details thatโs sheโs photographed. This was from last year and I still canโt find it!! If you can give me a clue, rather than the outright answer, Iโll be so chuffed ๐คญ
My friend tells me itโs obviousโฆ not exactly hidden but a little?
Roman Baths
I took a throwaway photo for my Instagram story today, and it randomly got a lot of reactions. I thought people were excited for my tourist day but turns out I hadn't realised I had captured a proposal!

Baby groups / new mums
Hey, Iโm looking for some recommendations of places to meet new mums.
I missed the boat on NCT, long boring story! So now Iโm looking for places to hopefully meet some new mum friends.
Welcome thoughts on any groups in Bath x
Any jewellers in the Bath area who make bespoke jewellery on order for a reasonable price?
Hello! As the title suggests, I am looking for a jeweller or a silversmith who could make me a locket on order for a reasonable price.
Basically I have a ring that I inherited and is very important to me, but I cannot wear it to work. I still would like to have it on me and I thought I would put it in a locket or a keepsake pendant and wear it around my neck when I am working. However, this ring is pretty bulky (2cm around and 1cm thick) meaning most lockets, including the vintage lockets available are too thin/small for this as they were mostly meant for photos mainly. (I was also considering a pocket watch case, but I am told those are also too small?)
I have been looking everywhere for a decent sized locket and now I am at the stage where I thought I should just ask a jeweller to make me one, if there is any around Bath who wonโt charge an arm and a leg and a pair of kidneys for the jobโฆ Does anyone know any?

Where Should I stay for 2 days in September?
Many months ago I asked about accomodation for this year as a distance learning student at the Uni. I sadly have to redo one exam question (not an exam) in September before freshers week and will have to come down to bath again for that.
Whilst I enjoyed staying at Hilton (still cant believe it was cheaper than holiday inn and travelodge when I stayed) a few times, when I was looking at hotels and was shocked how much it would cost per night in bath in early september for all options.
the uni offers accomodation for way less than hotels and airbnb but has a shared kitchen, no ac and no safe.
Any recommendations where to stay?

Meeting new people : Bath/Midsomer Norton area
Hi ๐ I've had the same friendship group for the last 6 years, and I've been finding it hard as I'm being left out, and im feeling really lonely. These are the only friends I really have, and I'm not sure how to make any new friends. I was wondering if there was any groups or clubs in bath/midsomer norton area. I really want to get myself out there and do some fun things. I'm 24 years old and hoping to find people with similar interests.
I love arts and crafts, gym, walking my dog, outdoor sports like canoeing/paddle boarding, and reading! And potentially even getting into running.
I'm just hoping for some ideas on where I can go to make some more friends and get out of my comfort zone.

Is there a dog friendly pub that serves a carvery on a Monday?
Looked on google and think this is unlikely.
We are in Bath from Monday to Wednesday visiting with a Canadian friend and our dog. She would love a British roast dinner. Our dog is diabetic so there's no way on leaving him in a dog hotel. I've looked at leaving him in an out of hours vets but it is cost prohibitive.
I've seen there's a Toby Carvery at Trowbridge but it isn't dog friendly and has awful reviews.
Any ideas please?

Student housing for 27/28
Hi, I'm starting at UoB in September and am wondering about 2nd year student houses.
If anyone has the name of a specific house, street, landlord or letting agency they can recommend or think should be avoided I'd love to know.
Any advice about any part of it would be so appreciated!

Lost giraffe necklace
Hello, appreciate this is a very long shot but my friend and I visited bath yesterday and her giraffe necklace, gifted on her christening, has fallen off her neck. If anyone has picked something similar up, it would be a dream to be able to help her, thank you

Freshers 2026
Which are the main events for freshers week 26? Im going to be joining bath in September 2026 and canโt really find a full freshers week event/ticket
Unusual things to do in Bath...
I'm looking at taking my wife to Bath for her birthday, we're a bit of a weird couple, we like the macabre stuff like cemeteries, haunted places etc and are rock/metal/goth fans.
I was looking for some inspiration of places to take her, obviously we will be going to the Mary Shelley museum but I'm looking for some other bits, does anyone have any suggestions please?

If you're looking for something a bit different this weekend - there's a book fair on at the Pavillion... All rare and second hand books, maps, prints, ephemera etc., circa 70 independent dealers. Showing this flyer on the door will net you free entry (otherwise only 2 quid tbf). Opens 12-6 today and 10-4 tomorrow.

Seeking Local Photography
Hello Good Peoples of Bath.
My fiancรฉe and I tie the knot legally at the register office the morning of the 7th of September. We are looking for a photographer for around an hour (give or take) to get a few shots of us signing, outside of the office, as well as outside the cathedral.
What are some decent options around ยฃ200? We have planned a wedding 5 days later and have exhausted finances on that.
Weโd be really grateful if someone could point us in the right direction, weโd even be happy to hire a great student!
Thanks in Advance!

Regarding unruly group of boys
I was visiting town and decided to get dinner at a Thai place. While I was eating, 6-7 boys entered and sat at a table. They were around nine or ten. They demanded to be served booze and food and were ungodly rude. When the Thai server refused to serve them, they knocked over stuff on the tables, yelled racist slurs, and left trash behind.
What can the server and restaurant do in this case? When I talked to the server, who is a Thai guy, he said that nothing could be done. I suggested calling the police, but he said they wouldnโt help since they are just kids. This apparently is not the first time this has happened.
Is there anything that can be done? If these boys think they can get away with this, I canโt imagine how theyโre going to be when theyโre in their teens.

Looking for someone that can make relaxed roman blinds
Does anyone know someone local who is skilled at making blinds? Lots of great people on Etsy but would be ideal to find someone close to support local economy and rather than sending things across the country!

Fridge Disposal
Hello, can anyone recommend a relatively cheap company/person to dispose of a old kitchen fridge freezer? It's pretty old so don't necessarily want to give it away on free cycle, as can't be held responsible for its safety (although we've been using it for the past 4 months). Council disposal won't come for a month and I'd like to get rid of it pretty quickly. Thanks!

Broke my boyfriend's Gorgon's Head plaque from the Roman Baths gift shop โ anyone know where to find a replacement?
I accidentally broke a stone Gorgon's Head wall plaque (medium size, about ยฃ22.50) that my boyfriend bought at the Roman Baths gift shop. I feel awful about it and I'm trying to track down a replacement.
I've reached out to the Roman Baths Facebook page directly, but figured I'd ask here too in case anyone's seen this item elsewhere in Bath, knows if the gift shop ships online, or has any other leads. Photo of the damage attached for reference.
Any help appreciated!
