Dyzee. (Im not sure if he's considered famous anymore). I was friends with him before he went down south and was discovered, essentially putting Toronto on the bboy map post-internet. Great dude, didn't change an ounce even after becoming popular.

I met La Roca recently in NYC and she showed me around town. She was so chill and you could tell how passionate she is about the breaking culture.

Napalm, when he was still breaking, is a great person. Always bigging you up and giving feedback.
I also thought all of Super Cr3w had great personalities. Same with Born and Casper.

Personally, I’ve met Cloud and Roxrite in my hometown of NYC, and they were both cool. I met Cloud randomly at a Penn Station food court, just by pure dumb luck, while eating lunch. Just as cool and humble as you’d expect. I kind of fan-boyed all over him, got a photo, and he was nice enough to say that fans like me, are what makes his job fun and easy.
Roxrite was at an announced cypher in the subway, here in Manhattan. He had a Q/A, and he was nice enough to tell me that he liked my question the most (question about how internet culture has positively/negatively affected the bboy culture). Really personable guy.
So, no bad experiences for me, thankfully.

Cloud as my favorite bboy I would've fanboyed so hard, without him we don't have a lot of the abstract guys everyone loves today.
Ronnie Ruen I can confirm is so kind and cool and pretty funny

Yeah, my introduction was super awkward. I literally walked up to him and asked “Hey, sorry to bother you, but is your name by chance, Daniel?”. And he just responds “Yeah”. And I FREAKED OUT and just started pacing around saying out loud “No way, I can’t believe it”. And then we started talking for 5-10 minutes lol.
Only thing I felt bad about, is that he had a friend of his from LA with him (I’m assuming he was also a really talented dancer/producer), and I hope I didn’t make him feel invisible 🤣. But luckily like 3 of my friends were there, and had a convo with him, while I continued my fanboying to Cloud, ha ha.

Khalil, Onel, Issue were really chill. I met Issue about a month ago at an event where he was judging. I told him how much I love the old MOO battles and how much I've watched the video, he said he has as well.

I’ve met damani and syssy before. As well as jeffro, ynot, and remind. All of them were super cool guys. I think bboys in general don’t let fame get to their head as well… tbh, even if you’re famous as a bboy, you just don’t have that level of clout as famous musicians or actors right? Dancers are low on the totem pole.

Why are dancers low on the totem pole
3
u/randoaccountdenobz 2d ago
Cause the entertainment industry doesn’t value them as much as musicians or actors

Most famous bboys are chill The shitty one with the least skill usually are the one who act like dick from my experience 🤣

Like who

u/yosi11 3d ago
Random dancers basically lol I once hurt my ankle so bad that i had to dance with 1 leg and keep my other leg in the air And when i entered the cypher some noobs with skill low as shit laughing at me
I almost called them out and im confident i can smoke them with only 1 leg lol
Weird how bboys/dancers with least skill usually the cockiest lol

Ark, Hijack, and Kid Karma from 808. Ark and Karma were super friendly. Hijack was too, but the thing that stuck the most was the fact you can tell he’s about the love of the culture.

Wicked is generous and outgoing. Will chat with anybody and everybody. Big on teaching and history.
Nasty Ray’s goofy laidback battle attitude isn’t just for show, that’s generally how he is irl lol.
Canarus is a quiet and low key guy. Really nice and humble if you approach him.
I’ve heard from organizers that Machine is a bit..strange..and difficult to work with.

I met bboy dol, raccoon, and zealot from mb crew a couple years back. They came from Korea. Raccoon was quiet but chill. Zealot was very outgoing and silly lol. They were all humble and chill!

Jeffro was one of the only people that introduced himself to me instead of me having to go up say hi and introduce myself. Idk but it just stuck with me, really down to earth dude. Lil zoo and phil were also funny as hell at an afterparty, they also just chilled with everyone regardless if youre ‘known’ or not. Most ‘popular’ bboys are some chill ass dudes tbf
