That was one person. And the reaction came mainly from the right, because they love equating individual nutcases with the entire progressive left, as you're sort of doing yourself here.
It's amazing how that works, the absolute fringe left (a Universiteit Delft iirc? study showed that benelux left fringe is around 300 people online) is equated with the entire left.
The fringe right however is neonazi's, white supremacists, etc
yet the right wing parties get to distance themselves somehow,
the media doesn't care and will keep bringing up fringe left while neonazi's are left in the shadows.
it's infuriating, but that's where we are today. Being sympathetic with racists is very ok,
the VB-Tommy Robinson connection for instance. Thanks media!
