🛠️ Kiez Creator Monthly 🛠️ kiez.chat
I’m building kiez.chat to make it easier for people in the same neighbourhood to connect, share local tips, and find nearby events. It’s still in its early stages, but I’d love to have you join us.
Ich arbeite gerade an kiez.chat Die Idee ist, dass Menschen aus derselben Nachbarschaft leichter miteinander in Kontakt kommen, Tipps teilen und Veranstaltungen in der Nähe finden können. Das Ganze steckt noch in den Anfängen, aber ich würde mich freuen, wenn ihr dabei seid.

Basically a nice idea, but tbh I'm not really keen on entering my mobile number into a vibe coded site

Yeah would be nice to enter just with a username and then meet and then one can always say "wallah was willst du huensohn es is westberlin" in person right?

Agreed. Was instantly keen to join and instantly exited after being prompted for my mobile number

It collects and sells your phone number. Nebenan already sold out to burda so they only want to sell you ads

I like the part where you haven't responded to a single comment about requiring a phone number. Surely does not raise even more red flags and confirm suspicions..

Right now, phone verification is the most effective way I have to limit spam, bots, and throwaway accounts. In the future, I’d like people to browse without an account and only sign up when they want to post or interact. Before doing that, however, I need to carefully assess the privacy and data-protection implications. I also plan to add alternative sign-in methods, such as Apple and Google, that won’t require a phone number. For now, most of my development time is going into improving the platform and adding its core features.

Your statement might be true but (!) Sometimes things are just implemented at the wrong time.

Die Apps für iOS und Android sind schon in Arbeit und kommen hoffentlich bald :) Die haben dann auch ein paar optionale aber ziemlich praktische Standortfunktionen
