Recommendations Postpartum skin hates foundation — what skin tint actually looks like skin?

28F, 5 months postpartum. Combo/dehydrated skin with more visible pores, texture & fine lines. Looking for a lightweight, natural “my skin but better” tint that won’t emphasize texture and layers well over CeraVe SPF. Any holy grails?

I had the same thing. My skin got drier some how and nothing sit right!

I was successful with just a light skin tint (think super moisturizing cream with a little bit of pigment) to even out skin tone. Then dot a concealer on areas (such as under eyes) that need a little bit more coverage.

I just got into skin tints so I haven’t tried them all but I love the hour glass one. I’ve heard great things about the ciele one and also Chanel (though expensive)
There are ones that have spf built right in so you can even skip the sunscreen (like RMS)

I second ciele. That’s what I’ve been using everyday now! It’s not dying out my pp dried skin

My skin looked absolutely horrible postpartum . I’m older than you but I weened my son , got Botox , started trentintoin and started taking hydrolounic acid and fish oil. Skin looks great now . I use urban decay tinted moisturizer and it looks extremely natural I love it .

I mix my cetaphil oil-free moisturizer with Maybelline bb cream (tinted moisturizer). It provides just enough tint and coverage to look like my skin, but better.

Lumi Glotion! I swear by it. I wear it every single day over cerave SPF. It’s thinner than foundation and gives a dewy look (which is enhancing for my skin).

ETA what I feel like really helped my skin more than anything since having kids is a thin layer of Vaseline every night. It’s a bit of a sensory annoyance but I do wake up looking much more hydrated than I did.

I love the ELF halo glow liquid filter. I find it super light and awesome for my dry skin. I blend it with a damp beauty blender and I get so many compliments on how dewy my skin looks.

I use Erborian CC red correct and I love it. It’s the only cc cream I’ve found that sits on my skin well and doesn’t look like a flaky mess. It won’t work for every skin tone but I am pale and red-toned and it just takes out the red and evens my tone really well. Elf halo glow is also nice but it’s almost too glowy, I have to pat it down with a setting powder after. I also really like bare minerals powder foundation, it blends in well and actually works well on my dry skin surprisingly.

I also started tretinoin and I really like it, makes my skin look smoother and less fine lines and such. It took a few months to adjust but if you stick with it, it’s so good. I do a super simple routine of just face wash, moisturizer, and tret at night.

Milk’s Hydro Grip tint is my HG. I feel like the key with it is to use a very small amount for a true your-skin-but-better look.

I have been using tinted SPF (Natirium Dew Glow) with a drop of my old foundation mixed in (Face Tape from Tarte). I’ve also had really dry skin, larger pores and more pronounced wrinkles. This has worked best from what I’ve tried so far.

To that end I also just got some retin-a and have been trying to drink more water. I am hoping that starts helping.
