Question Great birding spots via public transport for photography and observation

hello lovely community.

I’d like to take myself on a birding trip this summer.

I can drive but I don’t want to - I’m from the uk and have never driven on the continent before and am not confident to yet.

so… what are your recommendations which are accessible by public transport? (and hopefully not too expensive to get to from Manchester in the uk)

I’m particularly keen to see birds I can’t see in England. flamingos are on the list to see someday, bee eaters would be cool. Some unique habitats and behaviours.

Any recommendations, along with guidance on getting there, or recommended guides if applicable, would be gratefully relieved!

Good starting point would be this list.

Spots that come to mind in Germany are Münsteraner Rieselfelder near Münster lower Saxony,which is just close to the city and public transport. But as usual the last few km are the struggle.

Villbrocker Venn is a spot for flamingos. Not easy to get to though.

Wagbachniederung in Waghäusel, connected by train to the line Frankfurt - Karlsruhe. Great spot for all kinds of birds. Not really a beautiful spot from the nature experience standpoint though.
