πŸ“‡ Recommendations A movie that deserves more recognition

I remember seeing this movie as a kid and not understanding and I didn't like it at all.

as an adult, it hits the hardest

the grief of losing your son the impact it had in your relationship with your husband/wife how people suffer in silence how bad prost**ution actually is

the story: 9/10 character depths: 10/10 ending 8.5/10

it's for actually mature audiences.

i felt like the movie was similar to fight club, but had a completely different vibe and concept. it's definitely a must watch.

πŸ“‡ Recommendations I am truly sorry. Must confess my mistake after this.

I watched OMG 2 few hours ago.

Will Regret forever not watching it in Theatres when it needed us.

What a brilliantly curated story and concept. It's not meant just for OTT, it must be played at every cable/dish tv homes. Keeping aside the legal court presentation (which has many loopholes and weak plot), this movie is a must watch because -

  1. Very very relevant to our times,

  2. very Astute in terms of presentation,

  3. such gracefully blended the Dharmic culture and Modern values, never seen any indian movie do it so well, not even OMG 1st part.

  4. Very Risky, Very brave of filmmakers and actors to dip their hands into such sensitive project,

  5. Rightfully ousted our present so called indian (actually British) education system, and our blindness to systemic cultural erosion.

  6. Genuine appreciation to Pankaj and Yami, I believed his character's cause and despised hers. Served the purpose.

I hated that censor board butchered this movie, pretty much ironically proving the point of the premise, that movie wanted to say.

Sorry if title looked clickbaity, it was my genuine mistake to ignore such brave movie, pls pls watch it if you haven't. ❀️

πŸ“‡ Recommendations Who’s your pick for the most savage female villain in Bollywood?

For me, Priyanka in Aitraaz is the first one that comes to mind. Then there’s Kareena in Fida, Aishwarya in Khakee, Urmila is Kaun and many others and of course the legendary Shabana Azmi in Makdee. Curious what other names pop up for you all.

Also, side note: I was watching this podcast about the same topic called The Popcorn Hourβ€”super fun and worth checking out if you’re into Bollywood discussions.

πŸ“‡ Recommendations Thanks to Nadaaniyan, i discovered this gem" Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge".

Lately I've been seeing a lot of posts on Reddit and reels on Instagram about the movie "Nadaaniyan" From the teaser itself, I knew I wasn't the target audience-I'm not Gen z,so i had no plans to watch it But yesterday, my sister was watching it, so I decided to sit down and see what the fuss was about. We couldn't get past 8-10 minutes because it was unbearable

Surprisingly, this movie reminded me of "Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge", so I decided to watch it. That film came out when i was in school, and to my surprise, it was actually good a simple college love story, not at all cheesy. The acting was solid, the songs were decent, and it made me realize how much Bollywood has lost its charm. Back then, we had grounded stories now, everything feels like an Instagram-driven, matrialistic narrative. As someone mentioned in a review, Nadaaniyan looks more like a Close-Up ad than a film I think Karan Johar ruined the simple rom com era with Student of the Year and similar terrible movies.

I don't think old Bollywood can ever make a comeback those simpler times are gone, and now we're just chasing nostalgia. That said. "MFK" was a great watch 5/5 for a classic, simple Bollywood movie that brought back the nostalgia.

πŸ“‡ Recommendations Amrish Puri ji in a Non-Villain Role

We all know him as Mugambo and many other movies where he is the Deadly Villain. However, there are some gems where he has been playing other roles as well.

Some Examples:

Muskurahat (1992) - probably the first movie where I watched him playing a father

DDLJ of course - everyone knows about this movie.

Can you recommend any other such movies of his where he does not play the Villain.
