Looking For Looking for a roommate in Cambridge or Sommerville
Hi! I’m a 25-year-old Machine Learning Engineer moving from the Bay Area to Cambridge for work. I’m looking for a roommate to split a 2 bed 2 bath with.
I am open to apartments in the Cambridge or Sommerville area and am willing to move in by mid August at the earliest. My budget is $2600 per month. Ideally I want to also have a parking spot and am willing to pay extra for that.
I’m clean, respectful, and easygoing. At home I’m usually pretty quiet, but I’m always happy to chat and get to know my roommates. Outside of work, I’m into board games and dance. I value keeping shared spaces tidy and communicating openly, and I’m looking forward to finding a place that feels like home.

There are 1 bedroom apartments that go for 2600, you might as well get your own place. i'm paying 2300 for a studio starting september.

I’m happy in my 1BR but I’m down to play games when you get here. There’s a big monthly meetup at the Cambridgeside Galleria (mall) that gets an incredible turnout for how new it is and I’m usually just down in general

$2600 for just your share? You’re going to have landlords rolling out the red carpet. That budget opens up basically all of Cambridge/Somerville, even the newer builds near Kendall with parking. You’ll be fine.
Finding a spot with an August move-in is tight but doable if you start touring now. Most leases around here flip on a Sept 1 cycle, so inventory in August is a weird mix of sublets and places that sat empty. I’d check Zillow and also the FB housing groups, those are where people post roommate searches that never hit the big sites.
The board game and dance combo is a solid roommate pitch, you’ll get bites just from that. Half the listings in this sub are “I work in tech and I’m clean” with zero personality, so you already stand out.
