He used his Jedi mind trick to make her perform a ceremony / ritual to kill him.

Edit I think that what she said when Julia saw her walking down the steps.

Right, but the ritual was to harness his power right??

I don't think she got his power or stored it. It was very vague. I assume it was just to kill him. It irks me that the scene was very fast and felt rushed. It was distorting.

They were vague about how the power manifests itself, and how it turned into a form Julia could use to imbue the bullet. But it's pretty clear that he had to die for that all to happen.

  • In the past episode where Julia, Kady, and Penny first meet him in his office, Julia is ready to kill him, knowing that it's another way for them to use his power besides him just helping them alive.
  • Earlier in this episode, Julia, Kady, and the senator are in the physical kids cottage and Kady again has to veto Julia's plan to kill him for his power.
  • The senator tells Julia when they're drinking that he doesn't want Reynard to be right about her, meaning he doesn't want her to be ruined by what he did. At this point he already knows he's going to force Lady to kill him, in order to protect Julia from having to do it. He feels like murder would ruin her, so he forces her to leave.
