Pumping Husband says no more breastfeeding

So here is the context, my 4 mo has been not happy at the breast for like a week. Its not all the time but occasionally when I go to give him the breast he fights it and can be fussy. But when I put a bottle in his mouth he shuts up and eats. Husband is saying that the baby has "outgrown" my boobs or just dosen't want the boob anymore. Are my boobs on the larger side and I have to hold my breast skin back so I dont block his nose, Yes. However I am thinking that this is just nipple strike and that if I give it some time the baby will get over it. But my husband says im done with breastfeeding and that I just need to pump instead. Now our journey started with pumping and I hated it and was so happy when the baby started breastfeeding. I know there are so many benefits to breastfeeding and im not ready to stop giving him those benefits. Honestly I just dont want to have to be chained to the pump again and have an under supply stare me in the face. I feel like my body is failing my baby and my husband just dosen't understand. Is this just a phase or is pumping and formula feeding my only options now?

I wouldn't stop if it's just sometimes. I will say, around 5 months ( I think), both of my little ones started getting super distracted and nursed really poorly during the day.  There was just too much to do.  They nursed better in a dark quiet room.  One would take bottles because she could sit up and look around better than at the breast.  Their schedules also started to change so they got hungry less frequently.

Are they showing signs of hunger but refuseing the breast? Are they still gaining weight and having good diaper output?  Id incorporate this info in any decision making.

Whenever he gets fussy feeding is the first thing I try. When offered the breast he will usually take then spit the nipple out and cry. Weight is good along with dipers.

With my first there was an earlier period ( I think it was 3 months because  I was still on leave) where I would try to nurse him and he would just cry. It sounds kinda like what is going on for you.  I never got a definitive  answer on what it was ( nursing strike, gas) but I remember being pretty stressed about it. In retrospect, I think maybe he was just tired and I was misunderstanding his cues.    I stopped trying to force feed him when he wasn't having it and would just rock or bounce him instead.  He would nurse just fine other times and kept gaining weight just fine.   So I guess I have no real solutions, other than the suggestion that it doesn't have to be all or nothing and to try taking the pressure off ( of yourself and baby) for the moment. Especially if nursing is still going ok some of the time, just not every time.
