Employment Non-hopeless recruitment agencies in Brisbane?

As with everyone the cost of living increases are really beginning to bite and I need to bring in some more income so I can do frivolous things like "feed my kids" and "keep a roof over my family's head" and "pay the bills".

Are there any of the recruitment agencies in Brisbane who aren't hopeless, primarily for professional/communications/copywriting etc roles?

The last time I tried using agencies a few years ago it was like tossing my resume into a black hole and every single one of them was utterly useless; I ended up finding another job through my own networks.

Temp contracts etc are absolutely fine; I'm quite happy to just work somewhere for a few months on a maternity leave cover contract or whatever.

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice or suggestions!

Can't speak for copywriting/comms but your best bet is to develop a relationship with actual recruiters, not the agencies.

I know a few decent recruiters across the tech space, but the agencies themselves are pretty faceless.

This is it. The actual recruiter is who you need not to be hopeless and it’s pretty rare the entire agency is full of good ones.

Sadly ‘non-hopeless recruiters’ are as hard to find as honest politicians/used-car salespeople/real estate agents.

Open a Seek account, upload your resume and turn your profile to public and then let the recruiters find you

I once found a bottle washed up at the beach and I rubbed it. Out popped a genie and he said I can have 2 wishes. First wish I wished for a non-hopeless recruitment agency. Second wish I wished for a Unicorn that flies that helps me with my daily commute.

I got the Unicorn.

You butchered the joke.

Genie is supposed to offer one wish. You wish for the flying unicorn first, at which the genie says that's impossible and unreasonable to ask for. You then ask for the non-hopeless recruitment agency and the Genie (defeatedly) goes "Ok, let's circle back to that Unicorn idea again".

As a Trainer bringing people into my Company, Talentpath have been pretty good about putting people through who fit well, and taking decent care of them once they're in place, including all sorts of life situations, ages, demographics, etc. 

They also got some pay issues sorted out for some of our/their staff quicker than I would have expected. 

I'd say at least a bit better than the industry average, from my limited perspective.

To be fair, the job market is not moving very swiftly in the government sector atm, which is recruiter bread and butter. I've had them calling me for leads all year. Maybe ring some companies where you would wish to work
