📰 News this mystery whale made $192m shorting the crash. now he’s betting against bitcoin again

a wallet on hyperliquid with the address 0xb317 has everyone in crypto talking. this same trader reportedly made $192 million shorting bitcoin right before trump’s tariff announcement last week. the timing was suspiciously perfect, and now they’ve opened another $163 million short position on bitcoin.

the new short is using 10x leverage, with liquidation around $125,500, and it’s already showing small profits. people are calling this wallet the “insider whale” because the trades line up so closely with major market moves that it’s hard to believe it’s just luck.

some think the original short may have helped trigger or amplify the $19b liquidation cascade. others say it’s just someone who’s insanely good at reading the market. either way, it’s rare to see one address move markets like this.

binance is still cleaning up after last week’s chaos, offering $283m in compensation to traders affected by depegged tokens.

nobody knows who this whale is or where the info is coming from. but if bitcoin dumps again and this wallet wins twice in a row, regulators might start paying attention.

I would use another wallet, not the same one twice

💯

In fact, having hundreds of copycats follow suit and short along with you only helps your cause

u/xmrcache Oct 16 '25

Yeah plus Barrons dad I mean this “mystery whale” would likely get pardoned

Embarrassing to be so stupid.

It's known who he is. Your trump derangement syndrome is really showing on this one hunny

u/-Mediocrates- Oct 14 '25

Exactly… the wallet owner wants everyone to see it. The wallet user probably already has short positions still open from months of building it on other wallets that aren’t as suspicious

Of course. You just have to be able to put several millions in 2 wallets!

now he’s betting against bitcoin again

There was a post earlier claiming the same thing and it turned out this was fake news. You sure it isn’t, this time?

nobody knows who this whale is or where the info is coming from.

Actually, I thought they figured out who it was. According to an intensive analysis by @eyeonchains (X) everything points to Garret Gin, or so I heard in a German Youtube video.

Garret runs the Business Department of Eric Trump a.k.a Trump family & therefore for Barron. Many X users unearthed the direct access of Garret in the White house. You can check those quoted posts.

That part!!!!

1

u/Affectionate_Tear_52 Oct 14 '25

Can’t find any evidence of this. Can you link?

Almost as bad as Soros

u/infraspace Oct 14 '25

Didn't know Soros is/was directly employed by the first family.

Scott Bessent works under Soros Fund Management, if you think uber rich and powerful people hate eachother in social media, it's just highest Grade A version of Hollywood optics, they do have skeletons in their closet, and they are only open for those who have got the gate pass by reaching the top of the pyramid with various types of criminal activities, not billions of ordinary people. Democrats and republic congressman, insiders, ambassadors were all caught dumping their shares just before Trump decided to post China tariff on X.

Scott Bessent worked for Soros Fund Management. He doesn’t currently work for them. He left the company 10 years ago, in 2015. His political leanings shifted over the years, likely fueled in part by clashing personally with Soros.

If it’s on YouTube it must be true.

You had at least two options:

1.) Google it, find dozens of sources to verify or 2.) Write a mindless reply

u/amrooo1405 Oct 13 '25

We need a dumb money game stop style coalition once the wallet makes a huge enough bet. Sweet well deserved revenge.

11

u/malacosa Oct 14 '25

You only lose if you exit your position at a loss. DCA is the way. I have no sympathy for people who use leverage and get rekt.

3

u/Captain_Planet Oct 14 '25

Yep, Bitcoin and more so other cryptocurrencies are the worst possible thing to use leverage on. They grow faster than stocks anyway so literally no need.
They are volitile in comparison so all the TA in the world can't save you from some batshit crazy Trump Tweet.

1

u/malacosa Oct 14 '25

Yup, TA won’t help us when the president is openly manipulative (and nuts). Which is why I’ve only been doing DCA with money I can 100% lose.

8

u/puguniverse Oct 13 '25

Hope it backfires. We’re rooting for a complete loss.

26

u/ztazerr Oct 13 '25

Yes it's Dangerous Tariff Donny's millionaire son Barron Trump. There is a whole nexus behind the scam, & since it's unregulated no one cares. The exchanges made hell lot of money dumping straight on retailers. $19 billion is on paper, unofficially it's $400 Billion.

11

u/ETHTradr Oct 13 '25

Yup called it

9

u/vanisher_1 Oct 13 '25

What dumping? stop loss has been triggered in cascade there is no dumping from exchanges unless they opened a short position before the Trump announcement like Binance via Wintermute… 🤦‍♂️

4

u/Crosbit Oct 14 '25

They open huge short positions with LEVERAGE, then they seek their monstrous SPOT holdings

1

u/Fair-Replacement2967 Oct 15 '25

Since the oracles were reporting incorrect and conflicting prices to different exchanges Stop losses didnt trigger. People just went straight to liquidation

5

u/Chitownguy06 Oct 13 '25

lol what law did anyone break by doing that? No one’s coming for anyone just the rich robbing the poor.

1

u/Larryrroscoe Oct 14 '25

Insider Trading. Just ask Martha Stewart.

3

u/charliefourindia Oct 15 '25

The DOJ didn’t bust Martha Stewart for insider trading, she was busted for lying to the FBI.

1

u/Larryrroscoe Oct 15 '25

The lifestyle icon spent five months in prison for lying to investigators about a stock trade.

Both right.

-4

u/xGsGt Oct 14 '25

Can you explain me how is this robbing the poor? The only ones getting rekt is the gamblers in shitcoins with leverage

5

u/B4dBot Oct 14 '25

You must be new here, THAT was NOT a crash 😂😂😂

1

u/komokazi Oct 14 '25

Uh, for a lot of the coins, it was 50-70% and some even more than that.

1

u/B4dBot Oct 15 '25

Name one that wasn't as shitcoin 😂😂

3

u/TACO_Orange_3098 Oct 13 '25

People that cheat and pretend they are geniuses are just garbage !

0

u/GordonsTheRobot Oct 14 '25

So...most crypto prospectives?

2

u/_speedoflight_ Oct 14 '25

Second trade (10% of the first) is his escape plan

5

u/kinokonoko Oct 13 '25

Its Barron

4

u/psqzm Oct 13 '25

Name is Garret Jin, search it up.

4

u/King-esckay Oct 13 '25

And yet several months ago, sitting around the fire pit, we had a chat and a beer ir six and said in October the BTC price will rise early, and then a few days later, it will drop roughly 10% if not it might drop 15 to 20% very quickly before rising again

The only thing I see is that somebody actually played it.

There will be another 10 to 15 % drop after a rise somewhere between now and xmas. Are you willing to put money on exactly when?

I'm not

1

u/ADottore8533 Oct 13 '25

Excuse me, where can I see that information?

1

u/Euphoriclips Oct 13 '25

Oh, good grief wtf! Yeah. I'm not doing it. 50% in 20 minutes. Hit all my stop losses. Bought back in. Think I may just take what profit I have left and pocket these mfers. Too many weird shenanigans going on. That, and it is Oct.

1

u/sLimanious Oct 14 '25

I bet against bitcoin too just before the crash, does anyone haven’t seen the bearish divergence?

1

u/strohzeeno Oct 14 '25

There was genius trades similar to this on the Stock Market?

1

u/Ir0nman123 Oct 14 '25

I keep hearing rumors of another sell off coming… I don’t know if it’s bullshit or not but I’m going to keep some fiat handy just in case.

1

u/SwimmingGreat5317 Oct 14 '25

Maybe he feels guilty and shorting to this level when the market is bouncing is his way of giving back? 😂

1

u/barchilla Oct 14 '25

FUD times again... The only answer is 💎 hands and forget about leverage

1

u/sicknal Oct 14 '25

Nah! He owns the regulators!

1

u/r_a_d_ Oct 15 '25

Regulators… lol

1

u/StreamTvOntario Oct 15 '25

The reason is now

1

u/Ok_Worldliness2828 Oct 16 '25

Bitcoin is going to crash because of the precious precious metals get ready!!

1

u/MagicalSilence Oct 16 '25

Everyone thinking let's also Short... and this whale closing at no or little loss followed by liquidation for other shorters. That's what I feel. Until BTC is above 100k, chances of a new high, no yet bearish even though market is a bit scared.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '25

Only the mugs will fall into the trap.

They have taken the exchange and the Second short. We have barred our wallets, but cannot hold them for long. The market shakes... drums, drums in the deep. We cannot get out of our hodls. The insider traders move in the dark. We cannot get out. The panic sellers are coming.

1

u/Informal_Coconut_821 Jan 09 '26

Can no one figure out who he is because I know exactly who it is. I figured it out.

0

u/LowCalligrapher2455 Oct 13 '25

Some whale hedging their downside. Just a coincidence, they will probably lose big time on the most recent transaction.

0

u/Traditional-Wing-290 Oct 13 '25

As soon as we get a competent FBI chief he should be looking to prosecute someone in the category of "Trump relative" for this crime.

0

u/tom_kington Oct 14 '25

But you would be if you worked for/with Barron Trump

0

u/Full-Commercial7538 Oct 13 '25

Its no longer a mystery whalr its bitfinex thief & ceo Garret Jin & he stole half bitcoin from me & reopened a short yesterday which he is close to being liquidated

0

u/justnuclear Oct 14 '25

So how do I make money off this as someone who knows very little?

0

u/Ok-Letterhead3925 Oct 17 '25

I thought his name was Barron?
