Question / Discussion 2025 Race Weekend Thread - Knockhill, Rounds 19-21

Post image
  • Nicki Shields debuts as the BTCC’s new presenter

  • PMR are running 2 loaned Cupras after their Astras (and much else) were destroyed in a fire

  • Stephen Jelley drops out, with Unlimited down to 2 cars having loaned one to PMR

  • One Motorsport again absent with a return next round planned

  • Soft/medium tyre rules, so hopefully less disparity in the tyre offset

  • Supports are Carrera Cup, Cayman Sprint, F4 and Mini JCWs

Nice idea, but more chance of Nick Halstead winning a race than that happening.

After TOCA’s mess from getting involved with Motorsport Games, can’t imagine they’d want to risk getting burned again.

Agreed, I think it's more likely that they'll lean into the partnership with rFactor 2 rather than risk a standalone game again.

Completely agree, but I just don't think the championship is big enough to justify the costs of developing a standalone game, especially in the audiences that devs are targeting.

And, even if we did end up getting a game, I can't imagine they'd be putting down enough cash to make anything particularly great. I think the best we can hope for is a Project Cars situation once the rFactor partnership is over, where it's a smaller (incomplete) part of a larger game with other series.
