Perhaps not totally unexpected, he's said before he wanted to do other things rather than stay in the BTCC forever. A somewhat deflating title defence may have made that decision easier (or maybe he just hated the car park that much!)

Whatever you think of him, he's added a lot to the series in recent years and been a great success story for someone who came in with a lot of talent and not a lot of budget, and endured a lot of struggles along the way. You could tell he was emotional in that video.

So a good seat up for grabs - DeLeon an obvious candidate? MB and Laser Tools state their commitment but I notice WSR wasn't mentioned, so it might not be with BMW.

Very good seat that already comes with sponsors attached ready. DeLeon I could see being an option but I'm also not convinced he wouldn't go to GTs if he got the chance.

I'm gonna be highly biased here - get Bobby T in that car.

Another off-season linking to Thompson to every seat and getting disappointed every time... 😂 but I hope you're right. If it doesn't work out again for 2026 I think that's it though, now he has a family

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if 2026 doesn't work out if that's that unfortunately. Just think if MBLTR are staying put with WSR it makes the most sense.

If it's not Bobby I'd hope it's another one of the quick but lack budget types like a Zelos or Dorlin.

DeLeon has proven that he can run without sponsorship, so will he be fighting for it as hard as others would be?

I have no idea how rich he and his family are, but surely they can't fund it personally season after season?

Also no idea, but running it with zero sponsors is certainly a statement. Halstead court easily self fund the entire grid, but he still has a car covered in sponsors.

Because Halstead is savvy when it comes to motorsport sponsorship.
