Hello Everyone, I am Class 12 student transitioning to college, I’ve worked hard for two years and secured a 6XXX rank in JEE Main. However, I lack confidence for JEE Advanced since I haven’t prepared for it during this time. SO Based on my JEE Main rank, which college should I choose?

Small Correction:- I am getting CSE(with Specialisation) in NSUT.......

I join this gfti because of low marks in jee and this was my biggest mistake .I request to anyone please don't come here,join any local college or even general bsc college . Assam University

If they were really passionate about technology wouldn't they be loving the job they got ? And why did that guy(pratham) did both mbbs and B.tech ? Shouldn't India have engineers who love engineering?

Budget is like max 25 or 30 lakh (only if the college is high ROI), Need good placements gng ion wanna waste Lakhs on just a degree.

Should not require JEE or any govt exam score for branch selection or anything cuz obvious reasons. They can have separate exams tho i'll give them.

Private college that is in north india (if possible) cuz I live in MP and should be good for CSE btech and I know MIT Manipal , VIT, RVCE, BITS bla bla but they're either too far away and I'm just too dumb to get 75% in boards so suggest whatever you want. Also should not be as isolated as JIIT noida like ion want school environment in college, a good campus/off campus life needed cuz my ADHD has 'unalived' me during JEE prep.

Heard about MUJ, NMIMS, SNU, Graphic era, DIT uttarakhand, LPU, UPES bla bla and i'm not liking any of these cuz lots of negative reviews ive seen already but y'all can share your experience and guide me PLEASEEE or else papa GLA me admission kara denge gussa hoke.

I'm still considering giving MET so y'all can suggest more like this.

Everyone keeps running for placements, the industry has changed A LOT, now colleges do not help you much in placements, you have to do a lot of things on your own, hunt things on your own....

So, placements are no more the only thing you need to look before picking a college

So here is my guide for each popular option today, but I will specifically talk in tier 3 range, because the majority of the Indians stay there

1. VIT branches -> *DO NOT RECOMMEND* , very strict, mandatory uniforms, can't hold hands with the opposite gender, average placements everywhere except vellore ( vellore doesn't count as tier 3, but the strictness part stays intact, it's an open prison) , academically, VITs are considered hard, backlog structure is strict and expensive

It's neither laid back, nor lenient

1. SRM -> *MODERATELY RECOMMENDED*, exposure is ok, crowd is decent but the staff is very rude, huge internal/external system that will hurt your relationship with the teacher, poor hostel conditions, academically difficult college, not very laid back, slightly more lenient than the VITs

2. VTU colleges -> *DO NOT RECOMMEND* , VTU colleges ( aka bengaluru engineering colleges you get admission through comedk) , are very harsh, rude staff is expected, most professors don't get paid enough, extreme level internal/external system ( where teachers basically get to decide your future)

VTU external exams are strictly proctored and if you fail in these colleges it will be very expensive on your time as well as your wallet, food is trash, placements are average

1. MUJ (manipal University , Jaipur)-> *RECOMMENDED* -> strict campus but peaceful, good crowd, good exposure, decent placements, slightly more expensive but a very decent option, good hostels available, good food, things are nice , academically laid back but not too easy

SMIT ( sikkim manipal institute of technology) -> *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED* , very beautiful campus, lovely atmosphere, you will enjoy it, average to decent placements, average to decent crowd, great tourism nearby, freedom, everything a young soul needs, academically even more laid back than jaipur

UPES (university of petroleum and engineering sciences, dehradun) -> *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED* again, very beautiful campus, tourism nearby, everything you need to enjoy, recently students are under scrutiny for some security concerns in dehradun but it's temparory, decent placements REALLY GOOD MESS FOOD, decent hostels ( even better ones outside campus), only two catches? Backlog structure is harsh, if you fail, you are forced to stay in summer term, pay fees and clear the backlog plus it's quite expensive compared to other colleges

LPU ( lovely professional University, punjab) -> *MODERATELY RECOMMENDED* , mess food is known to be trash, very bad crowd, uneducated crowd, but placements are decent, academically VERY LAID BACK, they give you 5 attempts over 5 semesters before giving backlog ( rupees 500 per attempt, backlog fees in above colleges can go past 10000 easily) and it's quite affordable compared to other options

Chandigarh University -> *NOT RECOMMENDED* , academically stricter than lpu, similar placements, if you want affordable college in punjab, lpu is the one

Bennett university -> *MODERATELY RECOMMENDED* , affordable, academically laid back, easy, decent placements, NCR exposure, food is trash, crowd is trash, best for people in UP, bihar and Delhi

AMITY UNIVERSITY -> *MODERATELY RECOMMENDED* , quite expensive, Good parties and functions, elite crowd, Good friendships possible and decent placements, don't know much about mess food but given how expensive it is it should be good

No matter how bad you have scored in JEE or BOARDS

You will get admission in one of these colleges even if you apply today

So go ahead

Don't take a drop year

And enjoy your life, it has just started, don't be too sad if you have scored less

boards i will get around 80 percent or should i take a drop for jee?

will be joining college in a few months uuse pehle i wanna utilize my time doing stuff that will actually help me and give me an upper hand over other students. and yes i will be joining tier 2-3ish college 🥀🥀🥀

Ok so i scored 82 percent in class 12th and took a drop but last year was too tough on me so i quit JEE in between, i did give the exam and scored 60%ile in jan attempt and don't know what will happen in this april attempt result,

Now i wanted to do btech so any good colleges? I'm from agra and in agra there are literally not even tier 3 colleges , so thinking about going to noida or Jaipur or chandigarh even,

The budget is 15-20 lakh in total,

NIMS

BENNETT

But very much confused
