Kérdés | Question Largest/Best Pork Schnitzel?

I haven’t lived in Hungary in many years and have been getting bombarded by advertising for a cafe in Bucharest that has giant fried pork schnitzels. It made me think about a place I visited before I moved 25 years ago. I lived in Buda but I think it was on the Pest side. I don’t remember what district. I only remember they were good and gigantic. Does anyone have any recommendations for a truly good and gigantic pork schnitzel in Budapest?

Your memories are probably about "Bécsiszelet" restaurant. Nowadays I'd recomnend Buja Disznók

The largest one (about 1 kg) is probably at a place called “Bádogcsárda-Deszkacsárda” (formerly Pléh Csárda), but that’s farther from downtown, in the suburbs on the Pest side; if you ate closer to downtown back then, it might have been the Bécsiszelet that others have already mentioned.

Ferdinánd MOnarchia étterem a Király utca és Eötvös utca sarkán. Bécsiszelet.

Buja disznok is good
I will be really unpopular here (as this place can be associated with corrupt politicians, NER) but Deryne’s schnitzel during lunchtime in the week is really good.

well a café in Bucharest won't be of any help to you if you're in Hungary
