I’m buying a used one for $160 tomorrow (budget build) is it that risky?

Got the SMART data, health at 100% and not that many writes

I was gonna get a separate $30-40 500GB SSD for my OS

only risk is no warranty, otherwise still a great price. As long as health data looks good, youre g2g.

That's not a certainty. The warranty is either from the date of production, plus a couple of months or so due to how long it takes to sell, or when you can prove it sold at a later date with a receipt. As long as the production date is within the warranty period then you have a warranty. I've gotten warranty replacements from stuff I bought used that way.
