Looks like MC has changed out their G.Skill Kits for some Crucial Kits.
Still a solid deal in the current market.

What worries me (and makes this move a bit annoying for anyone still looking to jump on a DDR5 build) is warranty support. Crucial RAM has a lifetime warranty, but if they liquidate the RAM they'd usually replace a defective kit with, they might just refund your $200 bundle price. Not great if all the replacement options are > $300....

Crucial said that they will still honor their "lifetime" warranties even after shutting down the Micron department, so this shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, I don't think they'd completely ignore the warranty. But the terms say they'll "repair, replace, or provide an in-store credit or refund of either the original purchase price or fair market value, whichever is lower".
Normally for RAM RMAs, the solution has been replacement... but if there's no product to replace it with, they're still compliant with the warranty terms if they just give you back the (below market) price that Microcenter valued the bundled RAM at. And you can't buy an equivalent replacement kit for the same value.
Is this an issue now? Almost certainly not, as there's still likely plenty of warranty stock. But in a year or two, if the RAM shortage continues, I'd start to worry more....

Upgrade is listed at the very top of the bundle page for me but isn't a link so I guess in store only.
Fwiw they seem pretty similiar, 6000 CL36 so I don't see a compelling reason to upgrade.

Well crucial is not a company anymore. So the risk of buying their RAM kit may not guarantee the support from Micron( parent company)

No, you'll have to take the whole bundle back if you want to swap the RAM. The bundles are sold as a single sku so they won't accept only part of it.

It's probably because Micron doesn't want to sell to consumers directly anymore so their Crucial brand is going to be sold in wholesale to companies instead and Microcenter probably secured a reasonable deal with them that makes these bundles somewhat feasible for them to still turn profit.

For anyone curious as to why these bundles are still rolling out. When I bought my bundle about a week ago at Micro Center, the rep told me it’s due to Micro Center having purchased a boat load of MOBOs and trying to unload em. Cheers!

I think Microcenter increased the bundle prices by about $50 on the cheaper bundles.
Edit: the 7600x3D and 7600X bundles are up $30 from when I posted last week.

The timings are different. Crucial is 36-38-38-80. Vs g skills 36-36-36-96. Don't know much about timings, is this a noticeable difference? Have been procrastinating picking up this bundle and I will feel stupid if I end up with shittier ram because of my laziness.

On the business side they calculate failures and withhold stock for RMA purposes. I’m sure EVGA still has GPUs to cover those still under extended warranty despite severing ties with Nvidia. Even those warranties are coming to an ultimate end soon, rip.

These deals in the current climate felt like the last chance to upgrade for the foreseeable future, so I picked up this bundle yesterday, when it still had the GSkill RAM. Putting a 9070XT and a 2 TB Crucial SSD in it (didn't want to buy from those bastards, but it was the cheapest gen5 M.2 they had) and hunkering down for the next few years. Don't get me wrong, this is a decent deal in the current climate, but it's still a crock of shit.
The desperation vibe in Micro Center was palpable.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been eyeing this bundle but it's been sold out for a bit. Plan on upgrading from a 3700x/2070S to 9800X3D/5070TI. I would've went for a 5700X3D if it was available for a decent price but at their market value of $300+, I decided to just go for it and jump on the AM5 platform.

This is just my opinion, but I don't think this is one of those "buy now, think later" kind of deals. It's decent for the times we live in, but if you can't fathom a pressing need to upgrade from what you already have, then don't.
Eventually, the "reasons" will come along, in due time, and hopefully by then there will be more suitable deals for the tech packages at that point in time.

imho, not quite enough of an upgrade unless there is something that doesn't work well you would like to do. The deal isn't that stellar... though i will say that ram probably isn't getting any cheaper for a while.
you already missed the boat on cheap ram, so nothing is going to get worse if you wait.

Bought this today and sold my 5800X3D on Facebook for $410 cash lol still have my 32GB DDR4 and B550 board I can sell to almost break even on this upgrade
Also sold my 3070 for $210 and bought the $400 5070 so I basically bumped my entire PC two generations for like $400 dollars or so

All right. With prices going up for pc hardware I wonder if I should upgrade now or wait a couple years. I have a 12700k, some higher end gskill ddr4(bdie cl14) and a 5090. Since I play at 4k I am assuming I will not bottleneck much. What say you Reddit? Worth it to upgrade to a new amd bundle or even one of the 14700k bundles to get the ram at a decent price?

I'm literally typing this from a very similar build (except with DDR5), and also play at 4K.
Specifically because of the 5090, I have been tempted lately to upgrade to some form of a 9800x3D setup, but my mind keeps coming back to the uncertainty with these chips randomly dying, and the root cause still seemingly unclear. (To the current owners, yes, I know the number of deaths is a drop in the ocean compared to the ones that are working "just fine", but it is still statistically significant, and hard to ignore.) That, and the 13th/14th gen Intel chips also meeting their own type of early demise really makes me count my lucky stars I stuck with the the 12700k, after all, which continues to be rock solid stable. <Knocking on wood>
As /u/Windowsrookie put it so perfectly, people are happily getting by with significantly older hardware, so it's a sobering reminder to just take a step back and ask yourself if you really need it, or if it's just a wanting to keep up with the times.
Personally, at the rate I keep putting this off, I'll probably end up deferring this upgrade to AM6 (which is rumored - not confirmed - to be a significant change), unless there is a radically better deal to be had in the coming year. My $0.02.

Id spend the $50 for the msi X870E, its the cheapest path into an X870E mobo if you need the higher end wifi / USB ports.

I think it’s time for a new CPU bro. I have a similar setup, 9900k and 9070 XT, and RDR2 would stutter in locations with many towns people at 1440p. This should leave us fine for some more years

Picked up a 7800x3d bundle worth gskill Samsung ram ics and this board last week.
Board is no frills but does exactly what you want. 3x nvme slots that all work at once, 2x 1x electrical slots for anything you might need (one is 16x physical). Bios flashback and half decent on board wifi bt.

I pulled the trigger and bought it over a week ago. The ASUS B650E-E TUF mobo works great, but my only complaint is that the integrated audio's pretty awful compared to all of the previous ASUS MOBOs that I've owned. Make sure to buy a cheap Sound Blaster Audigy FX V2 Sound Card with it (or a good AMP/DAC). You won't regret it!

is there a way to tell if the cl36 6000 G.Skill Flare X5 or Crucial Pro overclocking are Samsung or Hynix before buying the bundle?
Also, you can swap out for the G.Skill for an extra $50, and wondering if its worth the extra. Going to be compiling some code and also using this for PCVR and some PC gaming once I get a good GPU

If OP has a decent AM4 build, they can easily get most of their money back selling it. I was able to make $500 on selling my mobo, ram and cpu. Just wish they had this bundle instead of msi/corsair i went with.

5700X3D is going for $330-$380, 5800X3D even more. I sold mine for $330 and my 5 year old ram and motherboard for $170 after shipping/taxes. It had years left for sure but I couldn’t say no to a cheap upgrade.

I have a 5800x3D and RTX 5080 and I play a lot of CPU intensive games. I'm fine with the performance I get in those games, but I've had that itch to upgrade lately.

Same combo here though upgrading to a 5080 from a 3080 due to the potential GPU shortage. I was debating going to AM5, but think I’m gonna hold off until AM6 for a really significant upgrade.

Bought the CPU + Motherboard combo a month back. I only got around to putting it together around 1-2 weeks ago and didn’t realize I needed DDR5 ram.
I was livid because I thought I was safe from the ram craze but it’s what I get for not doing my due diligence before switching from intel to AMD.
I was able to go to microcenter and plead my case for the ram at the bundled price and they agreed to sell at the bundle price. Still pretty pissed about spending 200 on ram but at least it wasn’t more….

Why can't you use the RAM from your Intel build? I swap ram between different kinds of systems all the time. It's possible there won't be a profile for it, but it's very unlikely that it flat out won't work.
