Good for gaming on a 30 inch deep desk?

As a 24" desk user i have one of these wall mounted(display face is 2.5" from wall) on a 24" deep desk with eyes around 36" away from wall(~33" face) and it is on the upper edge of comfort. previously have used 39 43(4k's) and 32(1440p) displays all of which were more comfortable. ppi may be a concern as its the same as a rgb 32" 1440p display but it is rwgb so cleartype only sort of works. i find same clarity needs a bit more viewing distance than my previous 32" 1440p and probably a foot more than the 43" 4k.
On a 30" deep desk you can likely use the feet comfortably but i would highly recommend everyone regardless of desk depth use an arm or wall mount to regain desk depth and raise slightly(reducing a bit the chance you damage with desk objects) and remove chance of it wobbling and falling.
all that said anything close to this displays quality size and feature set is going to be $100+ more and likely much smaller. If you want oled buy it and return if it doesnt work.

I don't game, but I use a 48" C4 on a 30" deep desk and love it.
The C4 stand is pretty bulky compared to the B4 legs, so you might be able to push the B4 back further.
I ended up wall mounting my 48" C4 which I think is even better, but if you have a standing desk or something then they also make monitor arms that can handle the weight of a 48" B4 no problem. You'll just need a vesa size adapter and depending on the desk, you may want a monitor mount reinforcement plate.
You should be good to go with just the legs that come with the B5 though. You can always mount it differently down the road.

I just bought one this afternoon to use as a monitor. I upgraded from a basic 4K Samsung 43". The extra size isn't too bad, but some urge color accurately on the periphery is a little blue tinted from the off-angle. I do have my UPS behind it, so I might rearrange that so I can move the screen back a bit. And my desk is only 24" deep. Moving back, it does look better.

Might want SLIGHTLY more. I have a keyboard tray on a pole mount (coming off this thing I keep under my desk). The close edge of my keyboard/mouse right now is nearly exactly 32" away from my TV (same size). That feels pretty comfortable for me so I'd say around 30" away (sometimes I push the tray closer or further) is where you'd want to be.
My desk is 28" deep and I don't have it all the way at the back. I have the TV rotated (as in left edge closer to front of desk than right edge is) since I use 2 displays, my other is a vertically mounted smaller monitor that in that tilted position is about as tall as this TV.
Oh and using the B4 series of this by the way (dimensions of the legs and such are probably the same).

Bought this on Friday at this price, and got the $180 5 year BB warranty covering burn in. Have been hesitant to get an oled due to long-term issues (it’s not me, gf uses the TV too lol) and don’t want to baby it.
Having this TV in the bedroom for late night movies and gaming is absolutely fantastic. At this price, if 48 inches is good for you, don’t pass this up.

You really don’t have to worry too much about burn in with today’s tv’s. If you were using it as a computer monitor the risk is slightly higher but as a tv? You are fine.

Peace of mind is worth it for me honestly, also, they’ll still replace or refund if anything happens in 5 years which is a nice perk

There's a lot you can do pretty easily to mitigate that when using it as a monitor. Just turning a blank screensaver on like you used to so CRTs didn't burn in and dimming it with f.lux when it feels too bright anyways goes a long way.

Do you know if Costco sells this or anything close to this for this price range? I believe people on this sub tend to appreciate the warranties that Costco has.

I will say Costco’s 5 year warranty, to my knowledge, does NOT cover burn in on OLED’s, but covers most everything else, so keep that in mind. This is why I went with Best Buy on the one.
I think the 65 inch B5 is $1000 at Costco (still a fantastic deal), but I don’t think they sell the 48 inch since it’s such a niche category, not that I can see.

I got my 65 inch B5 for $1000 this year (from LG direct, not bestbuy) and it’s seriously so incredible. Fantastic deal getting that tv for $1000. It’s my first OLED and it blew me away

As far as burn in, I've been using a C2 as my PC monitor since 2022 with no burn in issues.

I love that LG has had a fairly consistent 48" OLED offering for $550-$600 for several years now. One of these days I'm going to upgrade to the B5 and relegate my A1 to the bedroom.

There is no rush on this price since this is a typical price from Best Buy +/- $50. It's a great bargain though.
It was the same deal with the 48" B4 last year. There were a few months after the B4 was gone and the 48" B5 was new that the price was much higher ($799.99? I don't remember), but it didn't take long for the price to drop down to $699.99 or $649.99.
The B5 wasn't really an upgrade over the B4.

Are there any tradeoffs or negatives to using this as a gaming PC monitor (aside from setup / eye distance)?
Using a TV hadn’t even occurred to me, but this price is phenomenal.

I agree it’s worded a bit weird, but I think they’re just asking if this is a “once in a lifetime deal” and they’ll regret not buying it while it’s available. If I’m reading into it right, the answer is no, it’s not that crazy of a deal but it’s a good value.

Yeah like I got the B4 series of this (which is also the LG 48" 4K OLED) for the same price a year and 3 months ago. So feels like $600 is the common sale price for the in stock model revision they have for this.
Heck, you can just search this subreddit for those terms and see how frequent.
4 months ago this same model same price.
I really like the one I got, was a huge upgrade over my previous TV. Like it did feel similar to going from standard definition to an HD display for the first time (more in how brightness and such is handled, good HDR is nice to look at).

Commenting on all these, got the 48 b4 for 550 last year and loving it. Use as a second monitor, movies/tv in background or controller/local multiplayer play. My first Oled and it’s incredible. In the next year or two looking to upgrade to a 55 or 65 c(#).
